Don't forget to share those axe-fx patches with us, that way we can all sound just as good as Jeff!
All kidding aside, I hope you would consider tracking at least some of the guitar parts (solo's) with a mic'd up amp. There just seems to be a certain interaction between the player/guitar/amp that can yield some magical results sometimes. I've never used an Axe-fx personally, but I have used a few amp simulators before. Even when re-amped, they seem to lack a certain character that I think is developed when tracking with a mic'd amp. This may not be an issue with the Axe-fx though, but it might be something to consider. Thats just my 2 cents.
