Line6 POD HD400 video...

Ok here's what I think as an modeling dork since 1993: It's improved. They've managed to make it work, at least almost. I don't feel like throwing up when I hear it and that says a lot. ;) I've also made an order through Luthman Scandinavia (Line6 distribution in Sweden) for a testing session. We'll use the 500 I believe. I'll make sure to do some clips and a review, even if I'm not Ola. :D

The software editors and manuals are posted, been plying with the 400's - new mic models in this one.

Stoked to play with the Coles, 421, and Royer models!

Cabinet choices also include the 4x12 treadplate v30, but now an XXL v30 model, as well.

Thanks for the heads up on the manuals Jeff.
Just read through the "Advanced Guide" for the HD500.
The EQ FX models section is just fucking pwn.
I love how this time around it's a Fully Parametric EQ, instead of the Semi-Parametric that had a fixed Q value.
I love the fact that you can now (judging from the manual anyway) just tweak the tone to perfection (well as perfect as a HD500 will get ) and by the time it hits the DAW, you wont need to do anything to it EQ wise, because all the high pass/low pass, graphic, fully parametric etc is already in the POD itself.

New mic models is also fucking sexy, as is the addition of the ENGL cab.
There is no reason why this POD shouldn't be good. It HAS to be good.

Yeah, I'm pretty positive I'll be springing for the HD500 when it comes out - I really want to try out the dual tone method with legitimately good amps, and the ability to switch the FX loop to pre/post amp will make it actually work in 4-cable method with my 5150, unlike the XT Pro.

Awesome, looking foward to hear your clips.
I´m so glad that they've improved the EQ section. Just being able to notch 4Khz and HPF/LPF on the unity is a huge step. I wonder how much time they´re going to take to release a plugin version.

The HD500 could actually be quite interesting for me as a replacement for my Boss GT10, which I currently use in my liverig in 4-cable method.
Mainly because the HD500 has more buttons available to immediately switch patches.

Ever since I replaced my GT5 with the GT10 I missed the 5th patch button... hate the stepdance!

Thanks for the info.

The sound samples sound a bit better to me than the PodXT. I might have to pick one up and try it...

Another couple vids here for those who haven't seen them:

Nice stuff Ola!
Looking forward to clips with some slamming tunes and/or covers of songs.
