Mesa Triple Rectifier

Both rawk, but I'm prefering the Triple when it comes to note clarity, agressiveness, and volume of course.

Fender Mustang I

I got it in mint condition at a low price. Basically that's my go to "quick training amp" at home (i still live with my parents). The effects are really good, you can have a lot of fun with this amp, clean tones are incredible, crunch are okay but for distortion i just stick in a line 6 uber metal pedal a friend gave me : It helped me out a lot of times and i got so used to it i can't bother to get another pedal anyway.
What's cool with this amp is the usb port. You can download several sounds each stored in different banks and tweak them. Fender do post updates, reminds me i should check if there's a new one. With the amp comes ableton live and fender fuse. For a beginner who wishes to jam at home, test out a lot of different sounds and start recording it's pretty much what you need.

Bugera 6262 (sold it)

My first high gain amp. I was sceptical at first because of all the reviews when bugera started out. But fuck that, dat amp had a great sound. Not so much in the low end i now realize. But compared to a 6505, the bugera has a much nicer reverb, suitable cleans maybe even good and of course had no reason to be shy next to the peavey when comparing the lead channel. And for the price... well that sealed the deal. But after 2 years i had to sell it because it was too powerfull for my use.

Randall Rh 150 G3 +

I'm never letting go of this amp. Basically i'm a huge Dimebag/PanterA/Damageplan/Down fan (just saw Down last wednesday, phil is cool when speaking in spanish, making weird animal noises and wasted with you :kickass:
Whatever people say, IMO good transistor amps simply offer a different type of sound. I do prefer tubes but when i get tired of them i just plug into my randall and blast some pantera riffs. The palm mutes are HUGE coming from that amp. This monster has tons of gain in its belly ! What i like the most about this baby is the EQ, you have a wide panel of sounds, so have a beer and take your time discovering this amp. Only con is the effects loop which doesn't work so good. Oh yeah and the cleans are surprisingly good for an amp like that.

Peavey 5150 Block Letter

This is my fav amp. I've always dreamed of getting my hands on this amp and now i've finally got one. For an excellent price, i just couldn't refuse.
The amp's clean tone just sucks. Basically it hasn't got a clean channel, it's just a crunch channel with no gain so of course the clean is lifeless.
But the lead channel... Greatest mids in the universe. Highs can be aggressive but you have to learn how to tame that beast.
I use a Maxon od808 and an ISP G String noise gate = eargasm.

I'm still learning how to dial it for my recordings. I use different settings in each situation.

Live settings is pretty simple :
pre gain 6 or 7,
low 6,
mid 6/7,
high 5,
resonance is about 5 or 6
and presence 4

Whereas recording settings (preamp signal out with cabs impulses)
Pre gain 5
low 4
mid 0 or just add some more depending on the IR used and what sound i want
high 4
resonance 5 or 6
presence 8

Post gain is always up to 3 or 4

Harley Benton G212V cab (V30s)

First and only cab i have. What's so great about this cab is the price and you only have to do some simple modifications to make it sound even better (like getting rid of some stupid foam, varnish the inside etc.) V30s can be annoying with high frequencies but i just set the amp accordingly and boom no big deal.

My guitar rig consist of:
Peavey 6505
Harley Benton 12x2 V30 speakers
Vox wah-wah
Maxon OD-808
Boss NS-2
Boss Delay DD-7

Basically what you need for metal :)
Never really record with though, pretty much only use amp sims..

My collection is ever changing, but here's a list of the amps I own or have owned since I moved into my studio:
Ampeg SVT-VR
Ampeg SVT-4
Ampeg SVT-5
Bogner Shiva
Bogner Uberschall
Hiwatt Lead 100
Marshall JMP-1
Marshall JMP 2203 Mk. 2
Mesa/Boogie F100
Peavey 6505
VHT Sig-X
Vox AC-15 (UK)
Vox AC-15 Custom
Vox AC-30 Hand-wired head (UK)

My favorite of the list? My AC-15 Custom. Not very metal, I know.

Here's mine:

Framus Cobra head & cab - this has been my live rig for quite a while, I love this amp...it's got mad gain but it's also very clear.
Fractal Axe-FX Standard - use this constantly in the studio for demos, cleans, etc...I'm not much of a tweaker so I have 5-7 presets I like and I'm good to go....
Madison Divinity II - this was my first endorsement. great sounding amp, kinda like a cross between a Recto and a Marshall. Sadly they went out of business.
Marshall G100RCD (x2) - used these solid state heads live for years, and got great tone out of them. Now they're the backups to the backups, haha
Mesa Recto cabs (x2) - used this live for a long time until I got the Framus.

Stuff I've had in the past:

5150 Block
Bogner Shiva - traded this for a Caparison Horus so I think I did ok on it!
Bogner Uberschall (Lasse is the proud owner of this baby now!)
Mesa Dual Recto
POD
and other random stuff.....

OK here's my list...

Jet City JCA20H Modded - single channel - added a depth pot, changed resistors etc to tighten the amp up a lot and reduce fizz - great amp for straight out rock, blues and does 80's metal with ease. Upgraded to Mullard/Brimar EL-84's and sounds like a beast now. Plays amazing with my Carl Martin Plexitone for that cranked Marshall tone

Krank Rev Jr 20W - replaced stock Sovtek 5881's with JJ 6V6's and really tightened the amp up - piles of gain to spare, sweep knob really affects the tonestack, amazing clean channel especially now with the chimey 6V6's - takes SD-1 pedal very well but this amp is not my fav and it's currently for sale

Marshall JCM900 SL-X 50W - all original from Jan '93 - just replaced the stock EH EL-34's with JJ EL-34's and sounds even better than before - piles of gain to spare - can play chunky plexi-style rhythms to over-the-top gain... added patch cord into the efx loop and now amp is even tighter... amp is a little bright but JJ's darken it just enough and adds and tightens low end, smooths the top end and punchier mids... I'm never selling this amp

2x12 Custom Theile ported cab (it's actually two, 1x12 Theile/Electro-Voice cabs put together into one 2x12) - swap between UK Greenback, UK V30 and Reaper Heritage clone... the JCM900 seems to love the Greenbacks, so I may get another one or a separate 4x12 with just Greenbacks... full and tight Mesa-esque low end...

My first amp was a Marshall 2x12 combo. A valve state 100 watt something. It's so long ago I can barely remember how it sounded. Wasn't great.

I then got a jcm 900 dual reverb with a matching 4x12 cab. Huge step up from the combo, but not close to getting me where I wanted (thrash/death metal).

I sold the jcm 900 and got a Randall rh 200. It had all the gain I wanted, but its a one trick pony. I actually think it sounds good in a rehearsal situation, but I never managed to make it sound good miced up. I still have this amp as a backup amp for live playing.

Then came the original Line 6 spider top. Piece of shit. Burned it.

Next up was a bugera 333 Xl. Great sounding amp actually. I use it at home these days for quick demo stuff and such. I' matched it with my home built 2x12 cab.

The latest addition to my collection is a Peavey 6505. I bought it from Jeid on this forum and it sounds stellar! I bought the Dave Mustaine 1960 cab with v30s in it and the amp sounds huuuuge! Loving it.

Marshall JCM900 SL-X 100w (el34)

Mesa Dual Rec 2 channel version (late 90s before they changed to the shitty 3 channel version)

Peavy 6505-newley acquired. I was always skeptical of these in the past but Ive grown to like them.

Mesa Rectifier Cab with vintage 30s

Marshall 1960a with gt75s

Don't play out and don't use excessive amounts of gain (even thought the Egnater is capable) so nothing big for me.

Egnater Tweaker (original 15 watt head and matching cab with a Celestion G12H-30)
Fender Blues Junior III (recently got it a in a Craigslist trade)

I also have an Fender Showman 4x12 cab with G12T-75 tucked away that I rarely use (got in several years back in another trade).

Add in several modelers and a bunch of pedals and that's about it.
