Someone from that 'other' forum (forget who...) mentioned a band called Umphrey's McGee. They're quite good. Esspecially for how young they are.

You could check out Dream Theater (best band ever IMO), or go back to the classics like Pink Floyd (especially Dark Side of the Moon, fantastic album). My brother really likes Genesis, they're very proggy.

Oh and I almost forgot (although this probably goes without saying), there's always Opeth.
