Lyrically, your favorite Opeth song?

I'd have to go with When. The whole albums concept is what I like about Opeth. The fear.

The lyrics in Wreath don't make sense to me at all...but they aren't the only ones :p

Does anyone of you understand them? (I haven't found a thread about the lyrics of Deliverance yet...)

I picture a man who's returning to an old mansion, maybe his childhood home, to find answers to some questions of the past.

"Old memories, I'm not in need but wish to know"

"What are the tragedies, the history behind the walls"

While he's in the house he gets visions/flashbacks.....or ghosts...

"Familiar children's laughter, dissonant and out of time and their eyes are dead"

"Watching myself in a pool of water, wearing the mask of a ghost"

Maybe a serialkiller was active under his childhood years? Or maybe he himself was a killer?

"Sole provider of death"

"Human harvest burning"

At the end of the song, he dismisses it all and returns to where he came from.

"Closure to bleak matters - I'm leaving
End of a search"

"Coming of morning - Returning"

Advent or Deliverance

I especially love the lyrics on Deliverance.
There's just something twisted and disturbing about the way Mike sings.

Tell me how your heart's in need
As I drown you in the sea

Awesome song!
