M-Audio ProFire 2626

M-Audio just announced this, looks pretty sweet, a good alternative to something like a 003R or a great upgrade from a 002r.

26 I/O, 8 octane preamps (not amazing I know, but better than stock 002), and only 1U rack.
List price is 899.99, street will likely be about 750. I'd get it at dealer price, and M-Audio sends me NFRs anyway, so this would be perfect for me.
Even without my staff discount it would be a good deal, about $1000 for 2626 + M-Powered.
Keep an eye on this one.

It's not a copy of anything, it's just another 8 pre ADAT Firewire interface to compete with the Presonus/Focusrite/Mackie/etc. models, but this one is compatible with ProTools...

Its already on the US site so it shouldn't be too long before its in stores. Big stores often will make initial orders @ NAMM, so I'd expect them at Guitar Center etc. within 30 days.

this will probably be my next interface...looking for something to use with my reaper setup and dabble in protools...The pres will probobly sound as good or better than the lowend digi stuff...
