To get my license, I had to pass a math test that included math from 7th grade through 12th grade. I had a hard time, so I actually got a tutor because I was giving my boyfriend high blood pressure. I’ve never had a good math teacher in school. I’ve learned more math from my tutor than I’ve learned from any teacher, which is sad. There really needs to be better math teachers in school in general. I’ve noticed a lot of the math teachers in my school aren’t even certified to teach middle school math. They have a common branch license that goes up to 6th grade, yet they are 7th and 8th grade math teachers. I remember sitting in on this teacher’s after school math state test prep and she did the fucking problem wrong on the board. Smh.
