I don't see how that's a contradiction. The dictionary.com definitions say this:
1. existing in someone or something as a permanent and inseparable element, quality, or attribute: an inherent distrust of strangers.
2. Grammar . standing before a noun.
3. inhering; infixed.
I think that the reason they act that way is because men tend to put up with anything to get sex. This teaches them "men want me anyway, so I can act however I please, and if they don't like it, fuck them, another guy will."
I don't think they're born that way, I think we socialize them to be that way because of how we act. I guess "let" was the wrong word to use.
