Males and Females

The eating part's gonna be the hardest to change. I only have decent home-cooked meals about once a week. Aside from that, it's usually cereal, or things like grilled cheese/french toast/scrambled eggs for dinner.

Basically, my woman problem is that I fall really fast and hard, and I don't understand why. I think I've got some sort of chemical imbalance. I was with a girl for a couple months and after I got dumped recently, I took it obscenely hard, far too much so.

But, I'm hoping this anxiety specialist I'm seeing can help me with my faults. I'm hoping to get off meds for good come April.

I don't think pharmaceuticals will help, but I hope your psychotherapy identifies and addresses what appears to be the issue: you're placing too much value in women toward what constitutes your existential worth. You're investing far too much of yourself in others, and therefore you have next to no control over what is essentially a major part of yourself. Learn to get more out of what you yourself are and do, and the chemical imbalance will readjust.

On a totally-unrelated note, are any of you in LDR's who like to Skype with their partners? I do that twice or thrice a week and was wondering what sort of games/fun activities (besides the obvious) you like to do. Obviously I have the internet to consult, but you guys are more our type of people.

I actually was in a relationship with her, before I got dumped that is. Also I've got an appointment with an anxiety specialist in April. So yeah.

tl;dr youre gay

I thought you said you have not gotten laid in 4 years ?.

Drinking games are really fun on Skype. It gets weird.

Do you guys each have an xbox? Playing games and talking on the mic can always be a good time.

Yes, but I'm not terribly concerned about getting laid or not.

The Palm Twins are more than enough to relieve the sexual tension.

@ The Butt, honestly i actually, think this^^^ is your problem
instead of "falling hard" for a girl who's not gonna fuck you, and then crying about it when she decides her celibacy is going to be permanant, just get up and go get laid, seriously, just come to USA and buy the services of a few hookers

We usually have a beer or two together, but we have much more fun drinking in person. Drinking games are most fun with groups of people, but I'll research some two-person ones. We don't play video games, unfortunately.

I'm skeptical of the "chemical imbalance" explanation for anybody other than those relegated medical facilities for mental disorders. For one, there are no numbers to back up the claims. You can't get a test that will confirm or deny a chemical imbalance. It crosses me as a pharmaceutical industry marketing scheme, a rather convincing one, perpetuated by psychiatrists who are desperate for a cure for imaginary problems. The entire practice of psychiatry has gotten pathetic, they've all turned into drug dealers.

Good luck with the anxiety specialist. Hopefully they give real treatment, and not just a piece of paper to take to the pharmacy.

That's all psychiatrists and "anxiety specialists" (codeword for psychiatrist) do. They get paid to prescribe medicine and couldn't care less about how to deal with your problems. The more visits you make to them, which are solely for the purpose of calibrating your medicinal intake, the more money they make.

Well if we substitute nutritional deficiency for chemical imbalance, it makes more sense. But you don't get a nutritional deficiency because your body is lacking the latest pharmaceutical. All the pharmaceutical can do is potentially, temporarily mask the symptoms, while causing other problems.

@Zeph: Precisely. It really is a terrible trick on people who assume that those who practice "medicine" will be able to help them. The consumers certainly aren't victims though, many of them expect nothing more than a slip of paper and get annoyed when prescribers actually try to talk to the patient about their lives. I've heard it in the pharmacy a few more times than I'm comfortable hearing. People want their feel-good pills.

IMO, people wanting their feel-good pills is totally fine, but it's not medicine and should stop being construed as such.

@Dak: I'm not saying that the diagnoses of a chemical imbalance is an entirely erroneous notion. Just that since there are no numbers behind it and no way to confirm the diagnosis, the psychiatrists may as well try throwing rocks at their patients. It's entirely unethical what this field of "medicine" has become. Imagine if medical practitioners still considered bleeding their patients a sound medical treatment.

I hope you're right. I've been told that this guy intends to get me off of medication. So I'm gonna give it a shot.

Tbh when I get my own place I may just try to get my medical marijuana card. Fuck it. I'm calm when I smoke so eh.
