I checked Fetlife out, and the thing that annoys me is the fact that you can't search for people by gender/age/role or whatever. It would be really helpful if you had that option. Other than that, it's a good site.

I mean, facebook asks you for the same info but doesn't let you search for people like that. FetLife wants to be a community more than a dating site - it literally says it's not a meat market. You're supposed to make friends through various subforums and then bang or something. Although of course there are numerous subforums dedicated to personals, and I fully intend to use it as a meat market.

If you're looking for someone specific, you can hope they have the same or similar username to something else (OkC, tumblr, reddit) or you can laboriously browse by location, looking for an age/gender match, and even then some of the profiles you might want to look at are restricted. This is harder in Chicago than it might be in some other location.

I have pictures of my face, but no nudes or anything. I don't plan on running for office or anything, so fuck it. I'm not ashamed of my kinks (it helps that none of them are overly unconventional) and my face is kind of an asset.
Some people put up dirty pics without their face showing, which puzzles me because if you then meet someone irl they've already seen you naked...although I guess if you're meeting up irl you're probably gonna bang so whatever. Some people post nudes + face, which just strikes me as a bad idea but then again if women didn't make poor decisions about revealing images the internet would be a much less interesting place, so...god bless.

My face doesn't get me laid on OkC, so it's of no use to post on Fetlife, that's for sure. I get why people would rather post faceless nudes than nudeless faces. The risk of a family member or co-worker finding that page is more embarrassing. Yes, they would be on there too, but still, finding out your cousin's or co-worker's kinks is a lot more awkward than finding out they want to meet people to date on a conventional site.
Speaking of poor decisions, more Aly Michalka pictures were out today. I normally don't give a shit about the Nick/Disney girls, but this one is prettier, and I enjoyed her on the short-lived CW show Hellcats.
