Mastered vs Unmastered @ fredman w. Clips.

Hi,

I think some people would find it interesting to hear the difference between a mastered track vs the unmastered version. So here we go, this is the same clip that i posted in the Rate my mix session. Just import into your DAW and set the levels. It is mastered at Studio fredman.

I think the mix is great but the mastering is a bit too squashed for my taste. The cymbals are pumping in the louder parts pretty much.

Quite amazing, really fresh!

Btw, what comes to symbals I don't think they're squashed and it's more eq, they sound same when the eq is applied to original unmastered mix.

Were you using ani master bus compresion when mixing? It sounds like you were! Great mix and great master!

The guitars must've had some compression at least. Think I preferred the mastered one, but I just streamed it, didn't do it more thorough. The guitars popped too much in the unmastered one. Great mix nonetheless, must be easy money mastering these kinds of mixes.

Yes of course. I have a Mcdsp Mc3000, Mcdsp Analogue channel 1 and Waves SSL on the master bus. About 2-4db's of GR total.

Yes, i was attending when they mastered it. They did it ITB, using The glue, and Tc electronics MD3 and EQ. And Izotope Ozone limiter.

punchy master, Sounds and looks like MD3 to me. The mix is quite good also, but the vocals are annoying )) and a little out of tune here and there.
