Last time you checked with who??? I, for one, never considered Queensryche to be a metal band. Of course, I have not heard anything by them other than Operation Mindcrime which, in my opinion, was horrendously bad. Queensryche was no better than any of the other glam-rock crap that polluted MTV back in the 80's/early 90's.

Before anyone has an embolism, remember this is just my opinion!!!!

I absolutely 100% agree with this. Except for the fact that (not due to my own efforts) I have heard ALL their material. Oh god, I hope I never have to hear Geoff Tate's pathetic bleating again.

Okay, perhaps Queensryche's more recent stuff borders on post-grunge modern rock, but I thought it was a pretty well-known fact that 80s-era Queensryche was actually one of the first bands to kickstart the prog-METAL sub-genre, along with bands like Watchtower and Fates Warning. I don't think anyone could disagree that they are indeed a metal band after hearing ANY material from the first EP all the way up to 1988's "Operation: Mindcrime." Four words, QUEEN-OF-THE-REICH!
