Mesa 4x12 cabs w/ Diamond Plate Armor

I'm pretty sure it's only a covering (rather than metal all the way through), with the same baltic birch on the inside...not certain though

It's just a plate on top of the standard leather. I don't imagine it'll change much except maybe rattle if it's not on hella-tight.
Well, I know its only a covering. What I'm wondering is if the mass of it being attatched to the cabinet would alter any sort of resonance than you would normally get, similar to the way a tremolo and a fixed bridge on a guitar have different qualities.
