Mesa impulse comparison: OwnHammer vs God's Cab vs Redwirez

I quite like the sound of the God Cab in comparison to the others, to me in my opinion sounds like quite a full sound, however I don't know if that will make my tone sound too muddy as we use 8 strings tuned to E

I actually downloaded God Cab last night but unfortunately I don't have a superior studio so my CPU couldn't really process it :p haha

Jake, I liked the modern high end in that clip. It reminded me of Disturbed... please don't take that as an insult. :D

Not at all, tones are just tones and I won't get offended if someone doesn't like mine. This particular IR comes from a power amp setting that I use to perform initial reamp tests when doing client reamping. Through experience, I know that good source material sounds immediately fantastic with these settings, but non-ideal source will have all of its flaws highlighted by it. It's nice so that I will know how to proceed, what the project needs, what gear to use and etc.

Really interesting hearing my IR next to a couple other forumers here, I like that we have a good strong tone chaser presence here. I really liked Mick and Trev's IRs, the other 3 "big name" IRs all sound kind of bland to me, lacking in mid definition maybe? If I had to pick a favorite of those, I guess it would be the Ownhammer IR. Thanks for including us in this shootout!

No problem. I'm glad I can help. And the Disturbed thing wasn't an insult. I happen to think that there's mostly just one good thing in that band and it's the guitar tone. :D
