Irene Cara. I actually have the original soundtrack -- will definitely have to check out the cover version!

Let me know what you think. Apparently nobody over here liked it besides me, so...:headbang:

Beseech-Gimme_Gimme_Gimme(ABBA)
Dragonland-The_neverending_story
Fozzy - Balls To The Wall
H.I.M._Wicked Game
H.I.M._Rebel Yell
Pearl Jam - Last Kiss
Sinergy - The Number Of The Beast
Sonata Arctica - Still Loving You
Doro - White Wedding
Dream Theater - Hey You
Dangerous Toys - Feel Like Makin' Love

Where can I find the Dragonland Cover of "Neverending Story?"

I don't think these have been mentioned (if they have I apologize!)
Shining Fury does a badass version of "Rosanna"
PC69 - "Pinball Wizard"
At Vance - "Winner Takes It All"
Bonfire - "Sweet Home Alabama" (not sure if that counts)
Disturbed - "Shout"
Type O Negative - "Cinnamon Girl"
Warrant - "Train Train" (I'm not kidding, it rocks)

One cover to avoid at all costs is Jack Frost's cover of "Hold on loosely" Oh good God.

There was a Death Metal tribute to Rush, but I forgot who put it out. IT's terrible, but worth the listen for humor purposes. :kickass:

Here's my list:

Slayer: Violent Pacification (D.R.I.)
Dream Theater: Battery (Metallica), perhaps the whole Master of Puppets album...
Dream Theater w/ Barney Greenway [Napalm Death]: Damage Inc. (Metallica)
Faith No More: War Pigs (Black Sabbath)
Lana Lane: Season's End (Marillion)
Tad Morose: Losing More Than You Ever Had (Accept)

Is that good ? Udo is so unique in his style, only the Dummy Burger version of "Metal Heart" I like. I am a big Tad Morose fan, but even with Urban on vocals (who is an awesome singer,) they trashed "Losing More than You Have Ever Had." I am a huge Accept fan, so I am picky about covers originally by them.

Never heard it but the version of Sargant Fury kick major ass. You can find it in a CM metal tribute to ABBA.

Nevermore's cover of 'the sound of silence' was horrible, and ruins the song. At least if you are going to cover, you should keep the structure of the song there.

Haven't hear it and I know that I'm asking for being slaughtered for bashing on Nevermore but their cover of 'Love Bites' is also :ill: IMO.

I swear I'm going to stab the first person to recommend Children of Bodom's cover of Britney Spears.

Or Crystal Ball cover (brrrrr) I don't mind pop being covered but BS is BS :puke:

Now good pop/oldies/not -so-metal covers I can recall:

Coroner - 'I Want You (she's so heavy)'
Prototype - 'Red Barchetta'
Megadeth - 'No More Mr Nice Guy'
Hallows Eve - 'Shear Heart Attack'
Helloween - 'All My Loving'
Saxon - 'St Me Free'
Judas Priest - 'Diamonds & Rust'
Glenn Tipton - 'Paint It Black'
Iron Savior - 'This Flight Tonight'

NP: Bruce Dickinson - 'Mars Within'

Here's a few more...

Flotsam & Jetsam – Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting (Elton John)
Testament – Nobody’s Fault (Aerosmith)
Nightwish – Over the Hills & Faraway (Gary Moore)
Iron Maiden – Massacre (Thin Lizzy)
Seven Wishes – Never Unchain the Night (Dokken)
Demons & Wizards – Immigrant Song (Led Zeppelin)
Dream Theater – Perfect Strangers (Deep Purple)
Dream Theater – Funeral For A Friend (Love Lies Bleeding) (Elton John)

Angel Dust--Killer (Seal)
Steel Prophet--Oleander (don't know the original artist)
Redemption--Synchronicity II (The Police)
Dreamscape--Dancing With Tears In My Eyes (Ultravox)
Dokken--Nowhere Man (The Beatles)
Judas Priest--The Green Manalishi (With The Two-Pronged Crown) (Fleetwood Mac)
Manowar--An American Trilogy (old-ass tunes made famous by Elvis)
Metalium and Ivory Tower--Music (don't know the original artist)

Okay, perhaps some of those are better left forgotten.

Stay metal. Never rust.
