Well I think John Tardy from Obituary kills all
Chuck- Death
The guy from Immortal
Mullins Fron Suffocation-Pierced From With
Vincent- Altars, Blessed, Covenant
Entombed- The guy on Clandestine
Carcass- that guy

Well who is the best inhuman being you have heard.

Please post.

Chuck doesn't have detah vocals, he has thrash vocals. Those dudes from Carcass and Obituary and Six Feet Under, etc, those guys have no dynamics and it sounds like they're burping the words. Shitty.

I havne't heard much of Immortal or Covenant, or Entombed, so I can't say anything about them. But I think Mikael's growls own anyone. They're so deep and so powerful.

When someone says John Tardy has no dynamics i wonder if they have ever listened to those albums. He still would bark the fuck off most contemporary death vocalists. IF you want total proof look up Slowly We Rot rather then Cause Of Death.
And as for Chuck being a thrash vocalist check out Left To Die, or Low Life.
Now when you have listened to those tracks please respond.

Well I appreciate your research. But death metal vocals can be intelelligble. I mean and I agree that later Chuck borders on thrash but John Tardy wrote the book early on for extremity.
And It's rather funny listening to it now and he even sounds coherent compared to Nile and others.
But again I would argue he had a power that the current low low vox don't.
Comment?

"Death vocals are not to be meant short and choppy". Oh man I am sure I am not the only one that finds some profound contradictions in that statement.
What song are you listening to .

Look what is your definition of Death Metal vocals. I don'y agree that Sepultura sounds like Death for a start. What!!!!!!!!!!!
Give me a vocalist that you think is Death Metal.
Why are you splitting hairs my friend?

And for that I did mention Mullen who surely was a forerunner of many a Death metal vocalist. i mean I think even Chris Barnes wouls have been influenced by Effigy Of The Forgotten.

I think death vocals are deep, booming, growls, keywoard there being growls. Chuck moreso screams, and John Tardy moreso growls so low it sounds like burping. I have nothing wrong with that, I love both styles, but I don't think it's very death metally. Anders has good death metal vocals, as well as Mikael and Trey Azagthoth. Those are the best death vocals in my opinion.

Your own personal preference for a style of death metal vocals has nothing to do with what is and what isn't death vocals. You can like whatever you want, but it doesn't neccesarily mean it's any more suited for that style of music.

 Ha ha , thats hilarious! Chuck doesn't have death vocals? WTF? I assume you've only ever heard Symbolic or something? Download anything off Leprosy like Pull The Plug and tell us he doesnt do death vocals! Jesus Christ man, where d'you think the name comes from - "DEATH grunts"??!! Their first few records all had death growling, Chuck just changed over the years.
Leprosy is the best death metal album ever.

Your posts get funnier and funnier! TREY??? He's the fuckin guitarist, not the singer! David Vincent? Steve Tucker? Those names ring a bell? If I tell you Mikael sounds VERY similar to David Vincent maybe you'll know what I mean.

Dude, Trey Azagthoth is an amazing vocalist!!

Anyway, my favorite extreme metal vocalists would be Mikael Akerfeldt, David Vincent, Abbath, Chuck Shuldiner, Alexi Laiho, Glen Benton, Shagrath, Chris Barnes, Angela Gossow, Ihsahn... and Dani Filth.

Metalstorm.ee listed Trey as the vocalist, so I rightly said he's a good vocalist. If he isn't it doesn't chagne the fact that whoever DID do the vocals for Morbid ANgel did them good, and that's what I think are good death vocals.

About me only hearing Symbolic, this is the hundreth billionth fucking time I"ve had to tell someone to READ THE POSTS BEFORE YOU REPLY!!!
