Moshing at a Dream Theater show

Didn't Bruce record with DT on a cover of a Deep Purple song? Not the other way around.

IDK. Seemed pretty obvious to me what he was talking about.

It was. He just wanted to be his usual dick self.

I don't get that either. I mean sure their last few albums have been mediocre, but they created the template that most of our favorite bands are working from.

*ehem* i think you mean RUSH created the template. i mean Dream Theater stole everything they know from that magical Canadian trio. their influence is all over When Dream & Day Unite. ;)

Rush's influence is undeniable all throughout DT's career, but in terms of progressive METAL you can't deny DT's influence on damn near every band that followed. Hell, Magna Carta built a label around the DT sound.

I would not call Black Clouds and Silver Linings mediocre. Some songs like The Count of Tuscany and A Nightmare to Remember are flat out awesome.

I'd say it's a good album. The best they wrote in a really long time.

I agree 100%, best they've done since SFaM..., jmho....
I'm not a hater, but I'm far less of a fan than I was when WDADU came out, which was my introduction to them....

I believe that was a one off live thing, Perfect Strangers, but not a studio event...and even then, that was on a fan club cd only, if I'm not mistaken...

Yep. It was a live official bootleg in Los Angeles. They did Perfect Strangers, The Trooper, Where Eagles Dare and Killers together.

I was listening to the first album tonight on the way to the Cynic show (which was AWESOME by the way), Jaime just happened to have it playing in the car. And I tell you what it is a good Rush album. They should have kept the singer, what was his name Danny"Bonaduce?

People are that excited at a Dream theater show? I mean it is Constant Motion...they must have not been watching Dream Theater on stage lol.

Scene kids & "fugwads" will mosh to anything, hell, I eneded up in the ER the next morning after a Symphony X show due to pissing (lots of) blood from a blindside hit while the punkasses were moshing to "The Odyssey". If that happens again, at a show like that, someone IS going to lose an eye, I'm not kidding....:bah:
