well, basically, i'm in love with their latest album, 'doomsday machine' and the album 'wages of sin' which ravenous is from.
off of doomsday, i like 'nemesis'
sorry i'm not too specific, i think i might just be too tired. but yeah, i like almost anything by them.

personally i think both doomsday machine and anthems of rebellion are shit. Wages of sin is the best. especially whatever the fuck the opening track is (don't remember off the top of my head)
before i bought doomsday, i heard mixed reviews, but i thought i'd get it anyway. fortunately, for myself, i was quite pleased. anthems, yeah, not too great, but not horrible. as for wages, damn, insanely awesome...the opening track is "enemy within," and it does fuckin' rule.

There we go. yeah, i just think Wages showed so much promise and now they're like death metal lite. some good melodies, for sure, but wages of sin had everything from melody to brutality. Plus, that's the best angela has sounded.

i loved doomsday machine personally.. but yeah i wouldnt consider it very brutal at all.. but some awesome melodies throughout, especially 'my apocalypse' 'mechanic god creation' & 'machtkampf'. 'Enemy Within' 'Burning Angel' and 'Savage Messiah' are my favs from Wages of Sin album..

Just thought of a few more, although they might not be considered "Metal."
First, anything by Black Sabbath.
Second, Highway Star by Deep Purple. So headbangable, and the catchiest song ever. There's super high notes and sweet solos, too.

I cant' believe no one has said Russell Allen's solo disk yet. "Blackout" is a great song as well "Gaia".

russ's solo album is rock not metal.. therefore i dont think it fits with the 'most metal songs' thread..

Death is in my opinion one of the most important bands in metal history, and along with Morbid Angel and At the Gates one of the best Death metal band ever.
