vomit.vomit.at your statement.

the gathering is fairly over-rated.

oh if there are like 2 bands out there that deserve to big as big as mu*(è"çfècking 'cradle of filth' its anathema and the gathering. :yell:
or like within temptation gettin all the honor here in belgium and holland because the gathering and theatre of tragedy cleared the way for them. bah. why always the wrong bands are praised. WT didnt do a fuck to get big. it just came to them.
The Gathering even said a big fuck you towards the music business and started out with their own label. how many bands are having the guts to rely completely on themselves? The gathering kicks your butt and you have to admit it.

btw im glad the other people are thinking different about TG, 'cept shelley  :p )

"Hello",

To be "original" I voted Anathema! (hee)

But... I'd say In Flames, even though some of their stuff is getting slightly better. (too bad HIM wasn't on the list - talk about being over-rated, still one can see why they sell albums)

Paradise Lost WANTED to get famous and over-rated like, but they didn't manage! :tickled:

Still I think no album will ever be better than ' Slaughter of the Soul ' in the genre ...

"With Fear I Kiss the Burning Darkness" is one great album, if you take away the sound of it - migraine inducer!

I can understand The Gathering... And I really really cant understand what the fuck is so interesting in Within Temptation, I just cant stand the singing, it sounds terrible...

ring a bell?

i like WT, tho i must admit it's a bit too mainstream-ish for my liking tho.
it's quite fantasy-based, which has been done a bunch of times by now.
but it's a nice export thingy...

Hmmmm, it seems like you have the unique ability to choose the worst albums out of the best ones... Maybe it is just your strange taste to chosse well, whatever o_O

DARK TRANQUILLITY - Masterpiece = "THE GALLERY" (For me the second best album of the first wave of Melodic Death Metal from Gothenburg... ATG ruled R.I.P.) and DAMAGE DONE (the latest... don´t miss there killer-DVD coming out in September... They blew away IN FLAMES in perfoming live, what isn´t that difficult.)

SOILWORK - Steelbath Suicide, The Chainheart Machine ...

IN FLAMES - The Jester Race, Whoracle, Colony ... after it became even worse

SACRILEGE - The Fifth Season

Oooh, please gimme a break... I hear always the same about these bands... To be honest about Dak tranquillity & Soilwork, I find "the gallery" & "steelbath suicide" quite boring, I really prefer "projector" (& "damage done") & "natural born chaos"... Mature & killer albums...
:Smug:
For In Flames, I don't get it... what's the problem? Clean voices? Melody? Cider think IF is boring and it's just a matter of tastes, but please, you like "colony" which is pretty much the same album as "Clayman"... And I don't even talk about sacrilege... :yell::ill:

Is the singer of WT also doing the "I am seductive" arm-movements which all in all looks like a helicopter in slow-mo?

(and how old is she? 42?)

well HIM is far too overrated... really sucks, even if there were some great songs on the first album... :(

Aren't those the ones who did that "Don't fear the reaper"-cover which had such a out of key singing in it?

Anyways;
Rock on! :loco:
