Most universally hated genre of music?

I'm betting that most Americans would probably completely detest atonal music, but they wouldn't even recognize that it is music. I'm a musicology enthusiast and I try to be open minded about these things, but even I can't appreciate any of the music that I've heard outside of our Western twelve tone system.

What? I thought you shared my love for Arabian Classical music?

Indian music. Because it sucks.

Eat curry (with a dick inside)

I can respect certain forms of hip-hop to a degree (lyrical themes mainly) - that doesn't mean I like to hear that shit though.

The one thing that always pisses me off though is Techno/Electronica. Also, those bands that sound like Mindless Self Indulgence... ugh, fucking terrible.

Fewer than twelve tones is no problem, since even Western diatonic scales only have seven. It's when you have a lot of additional tones, intervals smaller than half steps and tones that fall between the twelve Western notes that it starts to sound dissonant and cacophonous to me.

Dansband is pretty hated around here atleast.

Yep, it's like a lesson in how to write music you don't like yourself. The whole idea about making music that's not for listening to in the first place says a lot. All types of Eurovision take the cake though, including those fucking metal bands who decide to "try it out" :puke:
