hey, has anyone seen Monster?
with : Charlize Theron and Christina Ricci?
awesome movie!!
I can't believe how ugly they made the amazing charlize theron
in that movie!
and her roll was great too.

she was great in that, the voice and mannerisms were scarily accurate
really good movie, up there with henry portrait of a serial killer for coldness

the Eileen Wournos story is an interesting one, she had one seriously fucked up life

.............

just finished watching harry potter and the gobshite of fire

not bad,

that newer movie with Charlise Theron (sp?) playing a miner in a very very sexually oppressive society was pretty good, i think.

you know what sucks? i can hardly remember ANY movie i've seen in a theatre in the past year 'cause we always get really stoned before we go in! there are some movies that my girlfriend and i still can't agree on whether we've seen or not

I cry nightly because I can't have Angelina =(.

This is the closest I have come to an Angelina look-a-like.

Just watched "Domino." Way better than it had any right to be. lurch, why didn't you like it?

i don't know ... it felt very random and pieced together as they were going along ... when they signed up for the TV show ... I think I slapped my forehead :loco:

just saw FLIGHTPLAN ... haha ... anyone else saw this?
the first half of the movie had a better premise then what it ended up being.

wow, if anything it was pretty well put together, albeit fairly formulaic (now), beginning with the scene right before the end, then going back to tell the story of how they got to that scene, before getting to the climax

but all-in-all, done pretty well IMO

Oliver!
I'm so cool I went and saw this show with my mom a few years ago, finally watched the celluloid version. Some characters didn't seem to fit, but the songs are of course awesome. And anyone who doesn't want to be Fagin, or at least hang out with him for a beer once or twice, is no friend of mine.

Howl's Moving Castle
Didn't like the cornball ending (as in the closing 30 seconds or so), but everything, EVERYTHING else was straight magic. Incredible characters, awesome development, great story, and a bunch of weird fucking shit. Still can't believe Miyazaki's movies are aimed for children via Disney. These things are mindfucks!

Jabberywocky
Outside of about 3 funny bits, this movie flat sucked. It sorta looked like Holy Grail which was nice, but jeez... what a dud.

Raising Arizona
Honestly not as funny as I remember it, but still awesome as fuck. One of two good Nicholas Cage rolls, the other being Leaving Las Vegas. Unless you count Fast Times at Ridgemount High. :dopey:

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
I can't believe I just barely watched this one. I think it was years and years of hating The Temple of Doom that kept me away, but that was definitely my mistake. Nearly as good as the original, and in some ways better.

Lolita
While I was a bit disheartened that it wasn't as disgusting as the book, I can understand why in 1962 that probably wouldn't have even sorta been allowed to be screened. So this was a bit of a pillow landing after the overtly vile book, but either way, that broad should've been in more movies. And, in case you didn't know it, Peter Sellers is GOD. Not a god, no. He is THE ONE. Jesus fucking christ that dude was so amazing. Hands down my favorite actor, and one of the most talented people to grace the planet I'm sure.

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
Extremely impressive visuals given that it's nearly 22 years old. The only thing else I have to say is <3 Ohmu. :loco:

Nausicaa is 22 years old? Bloody aye. I found it to be the best of the Ghibli films.

One of the best at any rate!!

Howl's Moving Castle was somehow disappointing, storywise. Unlike Nad I saw many character developments left undug and way too much cheesiness not only the ending. Good film nonetheless.

Totoro is the absolute winnar, no question.

What I found disapointing about Howl's Moving Castle was the lack of a deeper, more socialy conscious point. I don't really care about that stuff, it's just that I was expecting it, since all the other films had it, and it's usually quite well done. All there was in HMC was "yeah... stop this dumb war".

one thig I noticed with Tony Scott ... is he has this thing with a beat up couch on a hill, and some character nursing him/herself on it ... saw it in Domino and True Romance and I am pretty sure another movie he directed.

while I am at it, another repeating scene is Harvey Keitel combing his hair with a wet comb in front of a mirror in flicks ... he has done this in numerous flicks.

anyone else pickup similar repetitions in films???

Definitely awesome movie, but you forgot Adaptation on the list of good Nick Cage roles. Easily his best, with Raising Arizona being 2nd.

fast times at ridgemont high is hilarious!!!

We've totally done the "roll up in the van and let the smoke roll out" thing all over. Including a Tim Horton's drive through, it billowed out the driver side window into the tim horton's itself!! :p

Good thing we knew the dude working there :p
