Movies

Here is only now coming out in the u.s.? It's 2 years old already. If you liked Crouching tiger hidden dragon you will like this movie.

lost in translation: great great great. a must see for all alienated romantics out there :loco: (and for the sake of scarlett johansson) awsome photo btw, recomended.

big fish: ok, but not as good as i expected it to be. the stories where pretty enjoyable in themselves but it all felt rather incoherent.

irreversible: good movie, though a carbon copy of memento in the way it told the story (backwards that is). it had som really hardcore scenes of violence and rape (and homosexual intercourse), nice photo in this one as well and pretty captivating.

Just got back from seeing "love Me If You Dare" from the guy that did "Amelie". Not as good.
that sounds interesting despite your critisism, i wasn't aware he had another one ready but it's a must see since amelie was such an awesome movie.

Bad Santa was a fucking riot, need to see this again.

IRREVERSIBLE as well, that thing was brutal. Some dismiss it as too violent but the story was really phenomenal.

Memento, to this day I cannot make sense out of it. It was waaaay too mixed up.

I assume you've only seen it once? Memento is the best thriller to come out since The Usual Suspects. Both films deserve to be seen many, many times.

I only wish I could write a script like Memento.

hehe yeah it's brutal but it never feels unmotivated.

i actually understood memento (at least i think so ;)) the first time i saw it, "mullhollad drive" comes to mind when speaking of movies that are hard to grasp, it's ment to be understood subjectivly as far as i understand, great movie anyhow

Memento was fantastic.

Mullholland Drive was crap, IMO. I think I kind of get what it was supposed to be doing, I just didn't think it was done very well. He purposely made it more confusing than it needed to be. Great lesbo sex scenes, though. Mmmmm... Naomi Watts

Watched Blazing Saddles again the other night. Mongo only pawn in game of life. Classic.

Memento RULES it FUCKING RULES. I've watched that movie so many freakin' times, I can't get enough.

Blazing Saddles is, of course, one of the greatest movies ever. Hahahaha Mel Brooks as the chief that only speaks Yiddish!?!? CLASSIC!

i didn't like Memento becuase it felt forced. I don't like movies that are deliberately done to confuse the viewer. I want to watch a movie not pay some kind of live action video fucking game.

i found mull.drive to be really intriguing and captivating. the mood of it all (and the lesbo scenes  ) really appealed to me.

I saw Open Water this afternoon - really very well done, great account/interpretation of a true story, and all filmed on digicam for zero budget. Total claustrophobia once the movie kicks in, otherwise first 15 minutes are slow to the build up.

Just noticed lurch70's new avatar!

Has anyone seen the trailer for "Saw" yet? Or has anyone been reading about it? Looks like it could be a great psycho-thriller-horror movie like Se7en....fucking brilliant concept.

I think tonight I'm going to watch "The House of Sand and Fog" again. It's such a fantastic movie. It stars Jennifer Connelly and the legendary Ben Kingsley.

I read the book - I'm not going to watch the movie. Maybe one day when it hits HBO, but otherwise, it's just one of those stories which depresses me to the point of pissing me off. I haven't seen the film, but Jennifer Connely's character in the book is a complete cunt.

Saw looks cool as hell. It better be better than Se7en, which I thought was rather dull.

She's a complete cunt in the movie as well.

It is a very depressing and frustrating movie... but I like those kind of movies.

That's what my Mom said, just one of those movies that tries too hard to make the audience kill themselves.

Anyhow, watched Life of Brian, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Wake Up and Smell The... Carcass, and now onto Boondock Saints. Been a great fuckin' day. :Smokedev:
