Movies

Especially the visuals.

The only thing I care about in that movie.

And - THIS IS FUCKING WONDERFUL!

I was going to make tonight/tomorrow a movie night, but was hesitating due to the weather conditions (+8C/51F at most), and movie tehater I had in mind being 20 minutes walk away, BUT - both 300 and Grindhouse are being shown at a tiny movie theatre next door... which is a former porn theatre an dlooks like a real grindhouse.

Woot!

Wikipedia confirms this, except the naked sports, thought it was a men only privilege o_O
Well, i'm not 100% sure about it, i remember reading it somewhere.
Here's a link i found, dunno how reliable it is: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Aegean/7849/spwomen.html

edit: Here's a couple quotes from the above source:
"he [Lykourgos] ordered that the young women should go naked in the processions, as well as the young men, and dance, too, in that condition, at certain solemn feasts, singing certain songs, whilst the young men stood around, seeing and hearing them"
"These public processions of the maidens, and their appearing naked in their exercises and dancings [..]"

Well, I was away for a few days, vacation blah blah... So I watched 300 and I did like it! Quite a nice one indeed.

Omen trilogy..

No bullshit effects.. no stupid slaughtering..

i love story based horror.. and movies.. matrix was great.. but influence of the time slow was bad mistake..

Grindhouse and The Departed

DO NOT watch GH after midnight - Tarantino bored me to tears after Rodriguez. His part is great, but I was actually expecting blood and gore and titties, not "homerun" takes of four cunts blathering about shit. Well, acting is still great, but at 1 am it was useless trying to enjoy it.

The Departed has Asian flicks influence written all over it. Good movie.

That was pretty funny...

I just found out through online searching when it wouldn't pop up the new episode on iTunes, that The Black Donnellys has been cancelled. Not only is that alone a crushing thought (absolutely great show), it's being replaced with Real Life Wedding Crashers, a reality-TV show.

God I'm so sick of TV now.

Not high enough on the Nielson ratings. Not sure wtf else was on in that time slot, but still. I think part of it was that the people who would have watched Heroes and then TBD haven't been, due to Heroes' hiatus until the 23rd. But still. It was a rather engaging show, and a good deal more entertaining than anything else I'd seen on in a while.

EDIT: Although, my bro says he's heard that HBO might pick it up to replace Rome, but having two mob shows on at the same time doesn't seem likely.

Harsh Times

Could be another Training Day, but no way, not even close. Bale is excellent, fucking psycho, I loved it, scared the shit out of me, even though not that cold hearted as Denzel was in TD, just losing his edge motehrfucker. The movie is too long (1h:56m), and some of the background stuff about characters doesn't make them deeper. I think director/writer failed here, could be so much better.

Entourage

In fucking love with that show :) I'm afraid of touching anything HBO makes now, as it works like a drug - you can't stop watching till it's over. Season 3 part I was out recently, so I'm on to it after Season 2.

Drama is trying to pull off Kramer most of time, as I mentioned, but it doesn't really work. The rest is just mellow relaxing fun.

Thanks for the tip, M.B. :heh:

I ran that site in the site reliability detector and it says it's not reliable at all :erk:

Grindhouse, OMG what a movie(actually its a double feature)
Its so over the top, I laughed my ass off
This is the kind of thing that happens in one of the movies;
Cherry a down and out stripper has a machine gun for a leg because a zombie bite it off
it just goes on and on with this sort of thing, can't wait for the DVD, recommended -

ehh. 300. ok, that movie had some good parts. but but. 2 minutes not save the movie. boring, boring, boring. fucking slowtime efects and flying blood.

that was bullshit.

Fucking slowtime effects and flying blood.

That was awesome.

I loved the movie. Naked women, stylized slow-mo slaughtering, lots of blood and a great hero. More of that please. Now I am looking forward to Sin City 2.

Depp supposed to play Jackie Boy, but there were schedule constraints of some kind, so he bailed out.

I wonder if SC2 was delayed because of that toad Jolie at first... I wonder if she's gona participate anyway.

And Grindhouse was a horrible box-office flop :(

22.7 mil gross VS $67 mil budget, it's already sunk below 300... see here: http://boxofficemojo.com/weekend/chart/ I feel kinda bad :S

I am ashamed to admit that I got the original version of The Good Shepherd and could not understand the dialogues. The very low volume of voices compared to the soundtrack did not help, but basically I suck.

I will have to see the dubbed version, because it's the type of movie that I just can't miss anyway and it would be idiotic to pass on it just because my English instantly went bad.
