this is similar to what i want to do, maybe with green wood stain instead

so i guess i need to strip and sand it right down to the wood, i was hoping it wouldn't have to come to that but wood stain is just so frickin sexy

Relic the thing. Take off the paint, stain it a dark transparent color then sand off areas and beat the shit out of it.

Goddam UPS doesnt deliver on Saturdays. What kind of goddam fucking bullshit is *that*? The bass I paid 2-day shipping for on wednesday night will not arrive at my house until "end of day" Monday. I paid $20 extra bux for the sole purpose of receiving it while I'm off this weekend

saturday delivery is an additional charge, and might not even be available for residential. ive never seen that option when ordering shit for myself.

yeah

it shouldn't be THAT bad, i have access to some professional equipment (a friend works as a carpenter) for sanding and spraying, a heat gun etc.


today i've just done some fretboard cleaning w/lemon oil, got it to look and feel pretty much like new

i will be hopefully starting the actual process of stripping the paint sometime next week

Dorian what fucking bass will you get next week?

Saw some good stuff at NAMM but I currently have all I need so didn't really lust this year. Ashdown has a 15w all tube bass head that is damn sexay, but I didn't buy the 30w one a few years ago, and honestly I need 150w to be useful on a gig anyhow so WTFuckingF.

One more day at da show. So god damn tired.

well i just had my first minor setback

i was going to remove the nut and chipped off a little piece of the headstock

glued it back on, i don't think this will be visible when i've sanded it down and repainted and put the truss rod cover back on. but still, pretty annoying

anyway, guitar blog:

i just sanded off the headstock so now NO ONE WILL KNOW THIS IS ACTUALLY AN IBANEZ as expected, the chip i made in the wood is noticable, but the glue holds, and when i fill it and replace the truss rod cover it will be completely invisible. tis all good. also, look how fuckin clean that fretboard is.

next: i'll be starting the stripping of the actual body!
