Music Gear Thread

well crap, i just found out about the evertune bridge (it's a fixed, all-mechanical guitar bridge that never goes out of tune, ever, no matter what, just because of a few ingenious springs and screws)

and now i kind of need an evertune-equipped guitar because i worry a lot about tuning :(

like this one

butt ugly inlays but i can deal with that

Need. NEED. My wife doesn't know the meaning of that word when it comes to gear or CDs, no matter how many times I yellingly explain it to her.

I'm in NEED of selling some shit. If anyone wants some cheap pedals lemme know. I have some MXR, 3Xfx, Guyatone, Fuzzhugger, and Cave Passive poop I'm trying to offload.

Also a Genz Benz bass amp but I don't think anyone here would care about that. Either way, total RC Bro Deals available!

hey. funny you'd ask. we're in the process of starting a fuck-off heavy death/doom/distortion/feedback band and we need a bass distortion. do you have anything that's cheap and heavy as shit? we're going to be tuning down to C

The Fatman/V2 is pretty fookin' heavy and I'm only selling it for $100 woo! It has a light sensitive oscillating thing too:

I'm also selling one of these for $75, pretty durn heavy:

They are both pretty neat, but I basically plugged them in, went "fuckin' rad" and then put them in a box. My heavy fuzz needs are already covered pretty well, these just sit around.

I can figure out Swedish Shipping Costs if ye want, here's a picture of the rest of the poop:

that fatman sounds pretty cool

maybe i should check with the bassist, though. it might be overkill though cause i'm sure we don't need all this oscillating and wah-like stuff, we just need something that makes a shitload of noise and keeps the low-end fairly intact.

we just ordered a bass head. me and my buds have been rehearsing since like 2004 or something in various bands and the bassist has NEVER had a proper amp. we've been using 50w transistor guitar combos, lining the bass straight into the PA (without a DI box, natch) and so forth. it's been fucking awful

now at least we'll have a 550W behringer (yep.) head going into an ancient 3x12 (yep.) cab of unknown age and model

and maybe a 1x15 i'm going to make out of a broken acoustic guitar amp

being a musician is cool in that you never ever have any money for anything ever

Whoa. I want to see this 3x12 you speak of. I think the coolest cab I ever got to use was a 4x15 pyramid thing that weighed more than my first car. All it would do is feedback, especially if you kept shoving a microphone in there like I did (repeatedly).

Not having money builds character. I have shitloads of that crap, believe you me. I also once read a quote that said something like PERSONAL GROWTH THROUGH FUZZ PEDALS and that was pretty cool. I don't have much talent, but I sure am loud. So there.

@refraction: I could let the ILF2012 go for maybe $60 plus shipping. Maybe the phaser for $40 plus shipping, but I don't think I can do the others for that cheap. Unless I run out of burrito covers and get desperate.

Whoa. I want to see this 3x12 you speak of.

sure, i will take pictures of our rehearsal room when we've installed the bass gear and cleaned up a bit

EDIT: it looks kind of like this but with a "DNS" logo, no idea who the hell DNS were but its almost certainly a 70's or very early 80's model judging by the design

Ive been playing my 6 string through a guitar amp because I dont have any more money...so there

I use guitar gear all the time, although all my amps right now are bass oriented. As a kid I always liked guitar amps better because they had DISTORTION channels. Always pissed me off that bass amps never had that shit built in. So I'd just crank the gain on my Crate BX100 until it sounded like shit, and that's when the red light would freak out alerting me as to how awesome things were getting. BRRRRMMMM. BRRRRRMMMZZZ. BRRRRRMMZZZZZ *Anesthesia*

That is fucking COOL. And I don't know who DNS are either. My first amp was called AIMS. It was a PA head I think. It was 110watts of sheer pain and glory. I eventually traded it for a DOD chorus pedal and broken easy chair (they were both sky blue, matched set like). Then I was ampless for a few years, so developed a very heavy right hand technique that, years later, would eventually result in tendonitis. Sweet!

NAD i am possibly interested in some of that fuzz action, i shall research your offerings after work!
Lemme know anytime yo. Trying to free up some $$$ before the IRS bill is due in a few months. D'oh.

I own a phase 90 and this:

Im never going to need another phaser. The ILF on the other hand... 60 plus shipping... I want that so badly. If you dont get a better offer in the next few weeks ill probably take it

Subdecay rules. I've never tried that one, but my phaser of choice has been the Earthquaker Grand Orbiter for years upon years. I've gone through many others, the only one I like nearly as much is the Pigtronix. The Phase 100 is pretty cool, all things considered.

Speaking of phasers, and further proof that I have more money than sense: I bought a Toneczar Halophaze recently. Supposed to be shipping soon. WTF is wrong with me?

EDIT: I'll probably sell that one when it shows up, I don't expect it to work with my current tonal goals honestly. But I went on the waiting list in 2008 and couldn't say no when my name came up last November.

haha. Hey it's true that I haven't been drinking enough lately... :loco:

That there Lab Ratchet is pretty gnarly, but I already have like 5 heavy fuzzes I use more often.

Also I hate having gear sit about unused, I tend to spaz out about things I'm not gigging with.

It's a childhood complexity thing. My dad is a rockhound so I was surrounded by thousands of tons (literally) of rock that just sits there for the most part. He even has his Crazy Old Desert Rat House full of things collected from yard sales over the years. Piles upon piles.

He loves it, that's fine. He came back from Vietnam to find out his parents sold all his belongings because "oh, we thought you weren't coming back." That's his thing, I think I get that now. Personally I freak out if I have more than 6 basses. That's my thing.

Welcome to NADland.

ok i think i probably want that fatman if it's still up for grabs (erik expressed tentative interest?), that oscillating/wah sounding shit is just what im lookin for
