I'm looking for bands who sound like or share the same kind of atmosphere that Anathema's (Judgement/A Natural Disaster) and Katatonia's (Tonight's Decision/Last Fair Deal Gone Down/Viva Emptiness) latest material has.

So I'll basically be happy if anyone has any bands to suggest :p

I can't help you with this one, but I'd just like to say that I don't get the same vibe from these 2 bands at all. I LOVE Katatonia, and I can barely stand Anathema. What the fuck? I tried at least 3 or 4 of their albums, but no luck in finding anything to like about them.

-Lacrimas Profundere
-My Dying Bride : "Like gods of the sun" and "the angel and dark river"
-Opeth : Damnation (not really the same but still good !!)
-Amorphis
-The Gathering

Oh thanks for the tips. I've heard some of the stuff mentioned (Sentenced, Amorphis, Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride) but I'm checking out all the other stuff I can get a hold of. I'm listening to the first track of Blazing Eternity's "A World to Drown In" right now and it sounds really nice.

October Tide features the guitarist and drummer of Katatonia and singer Mårten Hansen, who does vocals for A Canorous Quintet, Sins of Omission. Sounds a lot like Katatonia though.
