Maximum 10:

The Great Cold Distance: 4. Very below-par. Several songs have nice melodies and great singing but the riffs that abound are horrible.

Viva Emptiness: 9.5. Absolutely fantastic. Lively, original, beautiful songs with great melodies, riffs and vocals. Very close second.

Last Fair Deal....: 9.5. Their darkest and it's wonderful. The songs are lengthy and hypnotic. My favourite.

Tonight's Decision: 9. Atmosphere and slow leads at their best. Best album cover also.

Discouraged Ones: 9. Cold, downbeat, original. I love the slightly 'innocent' sound here.

Brave Murder Day: 7. Some songs drag a bit, but the leads are very innovative. Paradise Lost influence is apparent.

Of course, this is all just my opinion, and I suppose it's all quite inane really.

Yes,LFDGD is a good album.And includes a lot of hit song.But it includes We must bury you,passing bird,don't tell a soul at the same time.These songs are weak for katatonia IMO.Ecspecially we must bury you.

I agree with you on We Must Bury You and Passing Bird. Although i really do like Jonas' vocals in the We Must Bury You chorus. But i consider Dont Tell A Soul a very good song. IMO most of the songs on TGCD arent quite up to that standards that Katatonia set during Tonights Decision and Last Fair Deal Gone Down. July, In The White are the only songs i dont skip at all...also along with Dissolving Bonds from My Twin EP.
