It's been a long time in the making, but there's finally a teaser of this record which has taken so long to wrap. Bit of a board collaboration.

Credits list on this one:

Engineering & Production:
Christopher Cruz
Drum Editing: Morgan C
Rhythm Guitar Reamping: Lasse Lammert
Mixing: Ermin Hamidovic
Mastering: Thomas 'Plec' Johansson

As far as input : output ratio goes, this is one of the most successful mixes I've ever done. It was, at times, hellishly difficult to make so many different instruments work together, but the end result feels worthwhile.

Big thanks to Plec for the phenomenal master. Not sure whether it's the new monitors over at the Panic Room mastering studio, or steroids in the water, but he really outdid himself on this one.

You can find more about the band here: http://lorenguard.com/music/

Hope you dig!

P.S.

Some of you may recognize this as the record from which these solo'd drums were taken: http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/production-tips/721894-mixed-drums-your-reference.html

sounds really good!
the mix and tones are really to my taste, i less like this kind of music, but it's really impressing!!

will be glad to have some info on micing setup for the guitars.. might be condensers?

Sounds promising >.<

I expect at least one epic 20 min song full of orchestra/medieval instruments and sounds of elves fucking in the forest and shit

Thanks for the share Ermin!

This project has been years in the making and everything I have learned about it's production has come directly from this forum. The information and willingness to help from all of you has been invaluable. Everyone who worked on this record from an audio standpoint is a member of the Sneap forum.

Ermin fucking knocked this thing out of the park. If you've ever read one of his posts and thought "wow, this dude knows what he is talking about" trust me....he does. Working with him was an absolute pleasure. I still can't believe how much more impressive the songs sound after his mix than before.

Lasse's reamps were amazing, Plec's mastering was out of control and Morgan C's drum edits set a great foundation for us to build on.

This is my first recording since leaving a pretty successful group that was signed to Metal Blade years ago. It feels good to have a product that I feel is superior and it was at done without ANY funding from a label.

We will be releasing a full song as a single shortly for free...I'll keep you dudes in the loop!

Oh, and if you like what you hear...please give us an official like on our facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/lorenguard

Really glad this is receiving such a positive reception. Lot of work went into it, for sure.

Can't wait for the single to be released. If it's the song I'm hoping for, you guys should love it :D

ROFL, it's middle-earth metal.

Teaser sounds awesomely cheesy, can't wait for the single!

can't even really remember which amp I used, sorry...
might be an at250DE mic for that one...not sure though

listening...sounds good....wow, vocals are LOUD :D

+1 at least those choirs seems to really overpower a lot of the stuff. Somehow the whole mid-part of the M/S feels drowned? Or is it just the wet'ish drums? Tonal balance and mood otherwise is just right!

Oh wow, I wasn't sure what project you were talking about when you mentioned me editing the drums, I thought you'd made a mistake... this was done quite a while ago by me. Damn good job on the mix.
