indeed. in fact, i think the reasons why some people mentioned it are two at the most, and quite unrelated to each other: first, niklas personally likes that genre; and second, various passages in dt songs since martin b joined the band hint at the possibility of more keyboard-intense trackss. personally, although nowadays i mostly listen to industrial music, i'd be perplexed by such an unlikely change. i suppose it would probably be best to pursue such interests - should the desire and opportunity ever arise - under a different monicker than dt. moreover, a melodeath/ebm crossover is not unheard of, but it tends to produce rammstein clones for some reason.

I didn't like it (Laethora) too much. I, like many, had imagined something much more melodic. Of course, i didn't expect a DT clone or anything, but i imagined some kind of cross between black metal and gothic/doom. Anywho, somehow it doesn't seem that good; it surprises me because Niklas, like all DT members, seems to have always had very high quality standards and this just doesn't seem to meet them (imo).

I see some of you are speaking of Niklas's presence in Laethora and so on as if he actually wrote the songs. Did he? I mean, i suppose he did compose the guitar parts and all, but i don't think he composed the whole songs.

Sorry for reviving this months-old thread. I just felt a sudden urge to talk about Laethora and didn't want to start another thread with the same topic as this one.

I am glad that Niklas turned to pure fucking death metal. IMO, for him its just a place to go for a good shredding, nothing more, but also nothing less. It may be surprising for the people here, as it is for me, but I like it.

It says something about mixing the stuff in autumn (i assume it means autumn 2005) and so on, but when is a demo or album going to be released? Just so i can run to buy it when it's out.

Well I'm sure he's read this, and an update will come when it's available... but if you wanna see what's going down, go for it. I doubt there'll be much new to add to laethora until he's back off tour... and after that theres a new DT abum in the works too. Depends really on how competant or busy with other projects the remaining Laethora members are I guess. This is all speculation.
