I am about to cry after hearing those samples. They had almost the same monotonous bass riff on every sample just churning along. Tom sounded a lot diff imo, which sounds like its for the worse. I was already skeptical about it from the name of the album and the fact that they have brought in a producer for this album too. I don't know if anyone on this particular thread metnioned it yet but they have a famous big time producer doing this album for them. He supposedly has produced for people such as Britney Spears and Def Leppard. And just to add this new album is still on IO and they signed a one album record deal with them as well. I am not sure if the one album IS this new album or if its for another album after this one. Anywho they did say themselves that they want to get on a bigger record label soon anyway so it shows that it probably will happen pretty soon. I hope this new record flops so hard they come begging for their true fan bases' forgiveness.

Hmm...I thought they sounded pretty good. Can't wait for this CD to come out, especially after reading Glenn Harveston's review of it.

Inner circle was amazing, but I'm quite worried that this album will be bad.

The only thing I find interesting about this thread is the amount of people willing to judge a band by 3 one minute clips. And by interesting, I mean brainless.
BUT, aren't they supposed to be incentives to get the album? Wouldn't it be reasonable to assume that the band thought those clips would represent the album well?
Recreation Day was one of the most awesome albums ever, hands down. There was a lot of originality there, everything worked well together, and it actually had emotion. This just sounds generic. Maybe not bad outright, but completely uninspiring. I hate.... HATE.... that phrygian riff. You know what I'm talking about!

I liked the samples, and the production is great. I hate the sound of Recreation Day, specially the drums. Inner Circle also has a weird sound for the drums, but this new album seems to be very well produced. The name might fail to please the ears and the cover is totally disappointing, but the music still is great. IMHO.

I've heard the new album in its entirety, and it's pure Evergrey. If you liked their last album "The Inner Circle", you'll love this one too.
The title is still the best thing about the album in my opinion... I've never liked Evergrey's music, and I'm glad I'm not the only one here to think so.Selppinevoli said:

well the cd has leaked... and it is evergrey but its like they got castrated. i dont know if its the production or what something is surely lacking. its basically the same stuff they always do tho. so its not really horrible, id just like to see them go balls out and crush us like i know they are capable of. and if there are 7 strings on this i cant really tell. nevermore uses 7 strings and they crush with them. so its not the instrument its the player. remember that!
