i've aways been into metallica (mainly old) and marilyn manson but never really looked into more metal...getting sick of punk rock 
anyway, bands so far i've found out that are awesome....children of bodom, at the gates, in flames, dream theater and blind guardian..anyone recommend me some bands that are similar to above..with 2-3 songs of each...
