New Katatonia album = AWESOME

I did a review of it over on the Katatonia forum, if anyone's looking for more detail.


I'm not sure how many of you have heard "Viva Emptiness" yet, but it's one of the most addictive albums I've listened to in a long time.


It's heavier, but also more mellow than LFDGD (heavier at it's heaviest, but mellower at it's mellowist), and the singing is just awesome.


Definitely pick this one up when it comes out!

Alot of songs are in that style. "One Year from Now," "Omerta," "Burn the Remembrance," and "Criminal" come immediately to mind.

I think Burn The Remembrance is my favorite so far, but the whole album is great.

I have about half of the album and I must say the Production is nice and clean, the riffs are extrachunky and the songs are ultra catchy, but it lacks the melancholy of LFDGD, and in my opinion that is a let down, I will not judge till I have the whole thing though

I think it's still plenty melancholy. It's more jazzy than LFDGD, but it's a more mature effort, in my opinion.

Nice track it does end very abruptly doesn't it, it is definitely a 3.00 minute track Yeah?

It seems like the next step from LFDGD. I do miss the terribly bleak quality they had on Tonight's Decision and prior. It's still great music and VE does have kind of a grim quality to it that I like. So I'll love it too. A wistful part of me just wishes they'd put out another album that makes me want to kill myself whenever I listen to it, but I'm excited for this one anyway.

'Tonight's Decision' was the killing yourself album.
'Last Fair Deal Gone Down' was the depression album.
'Brave Murder Day' was the comatose album.

What more do you need. They suit all moods!
