Viral marketing?

Most definately yes.

"Meshuggah have possibly intentionally leaked a new song through the website http://iamaleak.com. Listen below. The domain was registered by the band's manager, which implies that the 'leak' is a marketing stunt. It was announced through a cryptic message that was posted in some places around the internet. Read the message below.

UPDATE: according to an anonymous source, this song is track 7 off the upcoming album 'Koloss', titled "Break These Bones Whose Sinews Gave It Motion".

Hm, guitars sound somehow flatter than on Obzen.
And they have a certain sharp "bite" on the pick attack. Honestly can't tell if it's VSTs or amps. :err:

Who cares if it's real amp or sim as long as it sounds good... Especially in Metal nothing sounds like a real instrument.

I can't deny i am impressed... If this is really the Cubase sim, they did a good job. Not my favourite guitar tone though, but well done...

Holy! this does sound awesome. Can't tell if its vst amp, does cubsase vst amp come with cab simulatiors? If meshuggah did indeed use vst amp rack, do you think it was a stock cab (just EQed) or a custom impulse? Because if thats the case, you can make just about any amp sim sound above average with the right impulse imo.
