New SOILWORK Drum Tracking Video

I see a 5150... if it's the same 5150 that Peter used when tracking the new Nevermore, it's modded, and I'm pretty sure Andy's not reamping those particular sets of tracks.

Really fucking stoked for this. They're already onto vocals! Fawwkkkkk.

dwdrums, I'd love to see you post a video of your drumming, if your technique is so much better.

Hey Jeff...did you see any Nevermore's studio pictures? I found only some drum tracking pics

No, but I know they tracked gtrs with a modded 5150 and an ENGL SE, the ENGL tracks are what Andy is reamping IIRC.

If you girls have any questions I can see if Bjorn's up to answering anything.

Would love to know the gtr chain and vox chain if possible, or if we can expect a lot of singing or more of the NBC-era thrashiness to the vocals?

Here are a couple interviews w/ Dirk and Ola about the new album and recording process...

It's crazy that there was no rehearsal and they collaborated and recorded the album just sending files back and forth over the net. Man, technology has made it so easy for bands to make albums w/out ever having met in person. LOL. crazy stuff!

P.S. - Ola needs to work on his English.

:erk:not worth arguing. you'd understand if you knew what he was doing wrong. :)

Regardless, it's like saying Marty Friedman's picking hand technique is wrong because of the awkward angle he's playing at. Even if it is 'wrong,' the dude is still abso-fucking-lutely incredible and you can't really question his technique given his results.

Shit just saw all this now. Ill try to hit them up tomorrow before they wrap up main tracking if I remember. Sorry dudes.

Bjorn, when asked about vocals: everything at the same time basically lol. we also did a rerecording of _______

not sure Im allowed to say which song they did, so, I wont.

I asked if the album encompasses everything from Steelbath to Sworn and he said "for sure".

Only hit him up briefly and he was on his way out the door, so, Ill try to hit him up about signal chains here later.

I didn't understand how he could connect it to the macbook in fact... But there's just one channel used, so I think he uses the 96i/o as a standalone converter!

that could be a 192 in the pic just as well as a 96.

anyway, you can use PTHD with a laptop via a Magma Expansion Chassis.
