new to Orphaned

bassically im new to Orphaned and I would love to have some reconmendations on what album to buy first etc.

Hello !

This is just my opinion:
- Mabool is the most accessible album with good catchy tracks, lots of feeling.
- El Nora Alila is the less accessible one, and needs several times before being fully appreciated, specially because of the very harsh sound.
- Sahara is more Underground with complex songs. As all debut album, there is some imperfections but also magical moments...
- The Calm before the flood (Acoustic live) is a piece of art.

i'd recommend Mabool to get a good sense of what OL is about

As BC-A pointed out, Mabool is indeed the most easily accessible of Orphaned Land's releases but the truth is, whichever album you listen to first, you'll get the others sooner or later anyway and will end up loving each and every one of them. My personal introduction was Mabool, but depending on my mood, I prefer their earlier stuff. As for Kobi's vocals, they're more death metal style on El Norra Alila and Sahara. What other bands do you listen to? Maybe that'll help you with your decision.

My opinion is that you get Mabool first.
As for the others - Each album has it's own unique characteristics (e.g. El Norra Alila is not too accessible, but very unusual and experimental if you're into massive guitar work, etc).

well it's many years ago but i heard at first Sahara....and i found it great and so special cause it was something very innovative to this time. Than El Norra Alila came out and i loved and still love it... Mabool is brillient...but i still love El Norra Alila more that the other two.

So you see that there are different oppinions about it.
my suggestion is:

make your own experience and deicide by yourself which one at first you should buy. You can find on the net some streams or samples- hear them and make your own decision

Yeah you should get either Mabool or El Nora Alila

becouse its may help you to understand the minning of Orphand land and after that get El Norra Allila and mabool to feel the full power of O.L!!

P.S-- But i realy think you need to start with Sahara
