I was looking at the info for the first album on the metal-archives and found this:
That's pretty crazy that he spent eight years working on one song. However, it makes me feel better, because I thought I was a slow writer. I've been writing music for less than six years though.
I can understand if someone doesn't just like this band, but I can't understand why someone would hate this band. And I can't understand either how can this band be called ''average''.
Wintersun stands out from the other metal bands because its different than the most, better than the most. These days its very hard to create somthing unique but Wintersun can do it and I like it.
I can come up with only 2 reasons why somebody would hate this band:
-You hate growling vocals.
-You are a lame Blackmetal-fan-who-thinks-he-is-best/cool/tough- and-blackmetal-is-only-true-metal-and-has-to-say-that-any-bands- other-than-blackmetal-are-gay.
He's not a slow writer. He wasn't doing those songs all the time, cause ha made many songs in Ensiferum too. And I think he made little parts of songs and put them together in the end. Like for example if I made a riff that I like but it doesn't fit in any of my songs, I probably would just write it up or memorize it so I can use it when I can come up with a song where it fits. And there would probably be more parts like that.
btw, the cover is really cool, though I think it would have been better if Necrolord had done it. And I don't think it would have been leaked if he had done it.

Hmmmm the album cover looks quite pretty....although metal album covers aren't necessarily supposed to look pretty unless your Nightwish or a band with a resemblance to them. 
It does indeed look like a Nightwish cover like someone else said. hahaa

tbh there's a number of bands that sound not to different from Wintersun. You certainly couldn't call Wintersun unique because Wintersun was essentially just more Ensiferum.
That's the only album by them I have and when I was listening my reaction was "thank god he left, Wintersun is much better than this."

I have. I blame Einherjer, tbh. I'm still confused about how to pronounce it, though; myself and everyone I know just says the whole thing with no stress - ensiferum - but the other day I met a girl who said it eNsiFerUm. So...how do y'all say it?

nothing out of that whole finnish-power-metal-cum-folk-with-black-metal-vocals comes close to the ensiferum debut. you know, turisas, wintersun, cob, finntroll arent in the same league, nor are ensiferum's successive releases.
they got it right once, and no one has been able to equal it, not even themselves
