not including the fact that Opeth's videos are not the best thing in this sex-hungry world,
which song would make the next big hit video? regardless of cuts/edits etc. coz we know thats gonna happen

i can see A Fair Judgement as a good pick if the band chooses not to incldue death vocals. or visa-versa...Heir apparent.

i would also say Weakness but people would think im depressed or something :/

Face of Melinda of course.

But from Watershed, The Lotus Eater!1!1 (with super mario brothers jumping all around :P)

"The Lotus Eater"

It's extremely rare for a band to make a video of an older song, so "A Fair Judgement", "When", etc. are out.

Opeth always do things that we, the fans, don't expect, so this may happen.but, we have already expected it, so it won't happen, and we expected that this won't happen, so it will happen.....and the loop goes on

They should have made a video of Lotus Eater (like Mikael wanted himself), but as it is, they don't choose the songs.

And that's a damn shame. I honestly believe Opeth would have gotten more attention if they'd released a song like Lotus Eater as a video. Obviously RR are going with the most commercial songs out there, but I think that they would garner more attention with a song that stands out, and Lotus Eater sure as hell does.

Just because of the cuts, I would say Heir Apparent or Beneath the Mire because if you take off the outros (not saying they aren't nice outros), you won't have to take much else out. And with Demon of the Fall I think they could get away without any cuts though they'd still probably want to cut it to 5. A Fair Judgement is longer but has some more plays that can be cut sorta, and is probably the best bet for appealing to a more mainstream crowd. Personally I think the whole thing is bullshit since the videos alienate Opeth fans by cutting out parts and when they sorta get new fans into Opeth, I can't see that working out too well either. I don't think any ######## Opeth fan would discover this amazing band through Porcelain Heart, lol. They should just make full length videos knowing that if people don't like the length, they wouldn't have bought Opeth albums anyway.

Actually I think it is well possible to get to know the band through Porcelain Heart, it's pretty basic song and expresses the main style of Opeth's music in a easy way.

Thought it lacks the growling vocals, but anyone who get's interested will find out about them soon and be either turned on or off.

And I think it might be even better way to gain new fans, since many people that don't yet like the growl vocals will propably stop a song before even listening to the whole song, but if they listen to etc. Porcelain Heart they'll propably listen to the whole song and fall in love with it, and they will more propably later listen to the growl songs too and get used to them and become a fan.

"Harvest" is perfect the way it is. Videos that are a compilation of studio footage or live footage do far more for me than story-based ones.

It's the best music video Opeth has made.

On that note, I think the "Windowpane" video did that approach better.
