NFL 2009

I hope you realize the Broncos beat the Pats and have the same overall record. Just sayin...

Of course...though yet another game the Pats had near in the bag and should have won.
Pats are clearly a different team now than early on and showed lastnite (even with the horrible ending) that they can play with and look like one of the big boys again. Just think the two teams that I threw out there were overhyped and are now going in the wrong direction. I could be wrong, sure these teams could bounce back but I don't see it?

So who thinks Bill Belichick early timeout call was bad.

Lots of bad from Bill at the end lastnite. To come out of a break and then have to burn a t.o., this can't happen?? It was a t.o. that he lost any chance of possibly using before the two minute warning, to use in review to challenge the spot on the 4th & 2 play...wich was short of the first down but definitely worth a closer look.

Also, to go for it on 4th & 2 on your own 28...??? I like that Bill is aggressive and goes for it on 4th and short alot, but not here...ya can't give the ball over to the Colts on that spot. Even if the Pats make the first-down, it still would have been the wrong call at that time imo...too risky. Punt the ball...make them go 70-80 yards. You had a better chance of getting another int. or stopping the Colts, something the Pats did numerous times in the game.

Well my take on the 4th and 2 call by Belichick based on the situation (aka no timeouts and all that jazz) is/was as follows:

If you go for it and make it, you basically win the game.
If you go for it and don't make it, you lose the game.
If you punt it, you lose the game.

So really, the only choices he had was to go for it and/or lose.

sure, that probably was Bill's take on it.
I still say punt it. Better chance of stopping them trying to go 80yds or so instead of 28. Being of course they needed a TD not a FG.

EL OH EL at the Bengals talking to Larry Johnson

I wouldn't go near the problem Larry. Why disrupt what is now the Cinci Good-Ship lollipop!?!:D

So it seems the Saints have signed Chris McAlister. Good pick up even if he is a but shadow of his former self.

yes dick jauron is goneeeeeeeeee

There is talk of Shanahan taking over the Bills next year? I still find it kinda odd that Shanahan was present at much of the Pats summer camp. I know the two coaches may be close but I don't know if I'd want another coach / competitor hang'n around? Unless Shanahan was up for an assistant position...something wich I didn't hear anything about at the time?
