NFL 2009

Every team, every QB has a system...be it good, bad or ugly. Kinda simple, Cutler still has to perform and make decisions in the Bears system...he is doing so, just doing it very poorly. Some of those int's the other nite were inexplicable...not even close to his receivers?

after the game...he threw someone the salt shaker at dinner...that was intercepted as well!

While each team has a system there are some that make QBs thrive. The Patriots for example could plug in anyone and they'd have success. Why do you think Cassel did so good last year while being the definition of mediocre this year?

Sure, Cassell did pretty good with the Pats because he is pretty good and yes he was in a good system. But please, Cassell is nowhere near a Tom Brady.

KD even mentioned with what the Bears have on offense that Cutler should not be playing this bad...the system stuff is being overblown...sometimes ya just suck and or make bad decisions as a QB!

Joe Montana, probably the best ever, was in a fantastic system too with the Niners..he still was a great leader, performed well individually, and got it done in said great system when it counted in the playoffs. Sounds kinda like Brady to me! Except Tom didn't have nearly the weapons that Montana did.

If ya really want to talk systems...Peyton has had great systems and offenses throughout and has only been just ok in the playoffs and has actually had some horrible games. I just think in the playoffs at that time you are going against the best and the best players should and need to show up.

And this, Packers, is what happens when you bring a fucking PASS RUSH!

Sloppy win by the Saints, but they're missing 4 of their defensive starters so it was expected they'd struggle a bit defensively, but that offensive performance was bad aside from Bush and Meachem.

Tracy Porter might be out on IR, he's going for an MRI Monday, so hopefully it turns out he's okay. He has been playing fantastically this year so far and I'd hope he doesn't lose another season due to injury :( My favorite Saints defensive player by far.

I'm almost glad the Colts are losing to the Patriots...man, that's a weird thing to say.

The Steelers game sucked. Ben was off all day, missing receivers high, low, shallow, and deep, throwing into double coverage, going for the long ball way too often when it was obvious he didn't have it today. The play calling was the worst its ever been. They passed probably 70%. The most they were down the entire game was 6 points, so they were not obligated to go into shootout mode, but with Bruce Arians, unless Mendenhall is getting 7 yards on every play, he's going to pass it. They gave up on the run way too early, which only made the tough defense even tougher. How many sacks came with an empty back field? They made it obvious they were going to pass, and it showed frequently. The defense played as well as the Bengals' defense (which was excellent), but as has been the case way too often lately, they shit the bed on special teams. They can't tackle and they can't block. They need to do something about the special teams issues, and they need to balance their offense, especially when it's so fucking obvious that Roethlisberger isn't playing well. Even despite the shitty loss though, my biggest concern is on Polamalu re-injuring his knee. If he's out for any extended period of time, then they have no chance at the division whatsoever, which is already a long shot. The Packers looked good tonight, so the game against them could be more interesting than I'd like. The Bengals finally have a good team, at least for this season.
