I'm still waiting for you to give me an example of how I'm an obnoxious Colts fan. I tend to think I'm fairly level-headed when it comes to my criticism of the Colts and other teams.

A good percentage of your posts are worthless things like "Go Colts!" or "8-0 baby!" or something about how the Colts are better than some other team another person happens to be talking about. When I mention Mike Wallace, you say "Percy Harvin = Rookie of the Year. Your Mike Wallace can eat a dick Dodens." Then you follow up with "Oh yeah and the Colts are still undefeated. Suckers." Fucking annoying. When you want to, you speak level-headedly and fairly about sports and have a good critical eye on finer points of the game most people miss, but the rest of the time you're just an annoying homer, like Dakryn, Mort Divine, and Ozzman. I wish more people talked about sports the way people like MasterOLightning do, namely relatively calmly, critically, and not with some retarded sense of pride.

Basically what you are saying is that you would rather people not have a good time and joke around and show enthusiasm towards a sport that they enjoy watching.

If all you want to do is have serious football discussions then bring up some topic and we'll discuss it. Apparently you forgot that I'm a writer for a serious Colts website and am more than capable of participating in serious, critical discussions about football. If you don't believe me, then check out some of my articles. Or if you are looking for some very good Steelers oriented discussions/readings then I'd suggest going here.

So please stop acting like a scrooge and taking everything so seriously. We've been over this time and again and I figured by now you'd know I know what I'm talking about and a lot of the stuff said in this thread is mostly in jest by more people than just me.

Checking in a little late here...just got back from my Cancun Mex trip (not that anyone gives a shit ). Had a great time though, but it fucking rained all weekend (hurricane Ida)... had only about three hours of total sunshine and that was just prior to check-out. Still spent some time in the pool and beach even during the trop storm...was actually kinda cool.

Sunday, in the Oasis's VIP bar...we met some Steeler, Ariz, Indy, NY and some other NE fans. Only the national Falcons v Skins game was tv'd. so we decided to hoof it down the street from the hotel and luckily found a little pizzaria-bar that had the Pats / Miami game on. Great game...great time, with the group of us Pats fans having the place to ourselves and hanging with the owner Riccardo and some locals. Didn't see much of any other games except for the mon nite Steelers / Broncos game while en-route home. Had a good feelin the Steelers would win that game.
...was under the impression that the games were better and much closer this weekend...or no...??

The only aspect of sporting that demonstrates a lapse in civility is the fanbase. The players, the coaches, the league, the referees, etc., all consistently demonstrate a great deal of respect for fellow players, coaches, teams, and officials, with few exceptions like half of the Bengals. I would find it odd that the people who actually bash into each other on a weekly basis are far more reasonable about what's going on than the people who just stare at a rectangle, but then I remind myself that most sports fans have IQs below 85. You people don't understand what it's like to be better than the rest. This is a burden that I have to carry with me wherever I go, and it seems to be most jarringly overt when talking about sports with people.
