NFL 2014

Today was an historic day:

Well, to begin with I would say that although they might be good, at this point I don't think there is any argument about the best Oline.

Of course not, because the Eagles players are injured. If the o-line is 100% then there is most defintely a debate. The Eagles averaged 148 YPG on the ground last year and 5.1 YPC. That line absolutely mauled team after team on the ground. Jason Peters is arguably the best o-lineman in the league and Kelce and Mathis both have all-pro talent. Lane Johnson is a second year guy with a world of physical talent and Herremans is a solid 10 year NFL starter. When healthy, this is an extremely strong unit.

And I hear you on the Cowboys getting defensive players back, but I would counter that a lot of the young d-linemen for Philly appear to be coming into their own. The Eagles have a lot of high pick d-linemen who have really been producing the past few weeks. It's possible that they are finding their form now their second year in the 3-4 and Bill Davis's defensive scheme. We should have a better sense by the time the Cowboys and Eagles play.

What a tool
And it really pisses me off that the Jets suck dick every fucking year.
The Patriots have the easiest schedule year in and year out because of that gay ass division.

Yeah, it's sad that the Jets have somehow been the second most competent team in that division over the last decade.

why is it sad? maybe you forgot but the last decade the jets have had a number of talented players on their team:
revis
calvin pace
bart scott
nick mangold
chad pennington
curtis martin
jerricho cotchery
braylon edwards
cromartie
johnathan vilma
mike nugent
leon washington
d'brickashaw ferguson
brett favre
thomas jones
kris jenkins
alan faneca
shaun ellis
damien woody
tony richardson

just to name a few guys they had during the last decade who were good players

Fair point. The Jets have been a fairly strong team at times. It's really been the QB and WR positions that have kept them getting to the next level.

i didn't even mention L.T. but that was the end of his career and didn't do a whole lot.

when pennington was there yes he needed 1 more good WR and better protection from the line. when sanchez was there he needed experience which you can't buy. the end of sanchez's time there he needed better protection and another WR. now with geno they need a secondary and maybe harvin will fix the offensive woes a bit by drawing double coverage

That list you made can be made about any team. The Jets have always lacked stars at the main skill positions and today that means QB and Receivers (including TE).

That has been their achilles heal, but Matt is right to point out that it's not fair to act like they're some sub-standard franchise. The Jets have been in the playoffs 4 times in the last 10 years and the AFC Championship twice, so there's no denying this is a team that has had a good foundation in place.

That said, the franchise does seem to be on the decline.
