NFL 2014

Only if the direct parties involved (a person being designated a "Redskin" in a derogatory fashion, and the speaker doing the designating) think it is. That is how slurs work. There is nothing inherently unacceptable about the term "Redskin", anymore so than any other arrangement of letters.

The Navajo in my family find the whole fuss fucking stupid, and they are Cowboys fans.
So you're saying no slur is inherently offensive. Is this this really what you think? Do you use the words cunt and my pals regularly around women and blacks because you don't find them inherently unacceptable? Or do you just agree that by and large these words are in poor taste because they offend and alienate and diminish a significant portion of people, even if some of them don't mind?

I can't speak regarding the history of cunt, but my pals wasn't always a slur. It became one. Since very few in history spoke kindly of Native Americans, we can assume Redskins began as a slur, but pretty much no one cares about it one now - not even Native Americans.

Regarding Jerrah, I thought maybe he was starting to smarten up in listening to Garrett and Stephen regarding roster moves, and since Garrett took over and Stephen took a more active role, the roster side has improved dramatically (not that that is necessarily saying much after the Wade years destroyed what Parcells built.) Anyway, apparently he hasn't learned, and the wise moves are chafing:

"The only way to break out is to gamble -- take a chance with that first pick, if you wanna dramatically improve your team. That's why I wanted Manziel but I was the only guy who wanted him. I listened to everybody ... And I'm ... not ... happy ... ."

No football IQ.

Redskins and Giants with more wins than Dallas? That is ridiculous. *Maybe* if RG3 gets yanked for Cousins. The Giants and Redskins are going to be fighting for the cellar otherwise.

Carolina at 6-10? Really? You need to flip Atlanta and Carolina and then go +/- a game. Also Ari will replace SF for 2nd in their division this year. AFC looks fairly accurate though.

Your D is trash bro, hot garbage.

CF's predictions are reasonable. I think the Raiders are better than 3-13 though. I wouldnt be surprised if they finished 8-8.

Dallas might have the worst defense in the league, a 34 year old QB with back problems who is backed up by Brandon Weeden, and arguably the most nonsensical coaching system in the history of the NFL. Yup, that's a recipe for success.

Regarding the Giants, they're pretty mediocre, but even with as bad of a year as Manning had last year, they finished 8-8. I could see the Racists imploding, but they do have the pieces for a strong offense.

Carolina have the worst WRs in the NFL and have nothing at OT. I mean either Jericho Cotchery or Jason Avant is gonna start for them. Not a fan of the rookie they drafted in the first either. It's gonna be a lot of pressure on that defense and I don't think they'll hold.

Arizona won't be that good. They lost two of their best defensive players already and Carson Palmer is still their QB.

I am pretty worried the Bears will suck. They're a contender on paper, but it's an old team, and lacks depth. Jeffery is the only young star player. The rest is veterans on their last legs or players who are won't improve like Cutler and Marshall. The special teams are really terrible now, but at least they can take a knee in the endzone after every time they give up a score.

To be optimistic, at least half the league must feel crappy about their defense with the way things are being officiated.

I'm a faggot.

Arizona won't be that good. They lost two of their best defensive players already and Carson Palmer is still their QB.

My above predictions are obviously a joke, but I really think Arizona will improve. Veldheer is a solid LT, and they'll finally get Cooper at LG after he was out all of last year; the line should be better. Mathieu is back for a full season and the secondary is as good as any in the league with PP21, Mathieu, and that guy with 12 kids. Losing Dansby and Washington hurts, but Dockett is fairly mediocre these days, so that's not a huge blow. The front 7 could be a bit weak, but I think they'll do alright. Carson Palmer was decent at the end of last year, and along with the line improving, he has some decent options. Still got Fitz, Floyd and Ellington are improving, and Ginn Jr. is a decent addition (especially for special teams)... and then you have arguably the top coach in the league, Bruce Arians. I think they'll be around 9-7 or 10-6 again, but they'll be a better 10-6 team.

tl;dr - The entire offense improved, secondary is great, D-line and LBs are suspect, but they're still a good team overall.

That's the optimistic me, the realistic me knows this is the Arizona Cardinals, and that they'll be shit.

Detroit over New Orleans?

Not a chance.

Detroit still doesn't have a secondary, Matt Stafford is a turnover machine, and while the Lions have a good o-line the Saints have an elite pass rush (top 4 in sacks in the league last year while taking the least defensive snaps league wide) and a solid secondary.

Their offense speaks for itself.

Especially with Detroit playing at NO?

HAHA OK

Learn to fucking read Mort. You also think I'm serious about the Cardinals going undefeated and Cincinnati actually winning a playoff game?

And even if I wasn't joking, is it against the law to predict an upset?

I figured you were some Cardinals fanboy and were making a few bold predictions.

And upsets are fine yes, but... the Lions upsetting anyone would bring destruction to this poor state. Its best that the fans don't get to experience the Lions winning, couldn't contain themselves.

Nonsensical coaching system? A QB with "back problems"? lolok.

For both the Cowboys and Giants, you overlooked key coaching and system changes/adjustments. Yeah, Dallas' D is going to be in the bottom 5 unless a miracle happens, but the offense is going to probably be in the top 5. The reason Dallas will have more than 5 wins is a weak division. Neither the Redskins nor the Giants are scaring anyone (at this point). Merely splitting division games gives Dallas 3 wins, and I think they can find more than 2 in their other 10 games. Hell, even the Niners suddenly aren't so imposing with all the losses on the defensive side of the ball. Not saying that is a win, but I'm not chalking it up as an auto loss either.

Linehan will significantly help the good Dallas defense get better. The Giants on the other hand, are learning a whole new system, and none of the receivers appear comfortable yet nor moving in that direction.

The Panther WR corps was terrible last year, I would say the new corps is at least marginally better. I think they will regress but due to losses in the secondary. But how did Atlanta get appreciably better?

The Giants main problem is their Oline. Their WRs will be fine. Eli will be Eli, hot and cold. And I love how their D looks on paper at least. Watch out for this outside linebacker Kennard.
