I don't really care about the WHC:s (b-tournament) when push comes to shove but the game itself was entertaining. I have to wonder though, why would Canada make Lindy Ruff coach when they have so many better options.

Its Canada, they got nothing else to root for now lol...except for the Sens. For hockey fans the NHL (playoffs) is all that should matter at this time...but whatever.

How so? Canada played way better than they have the past 3 world championships with him as coach, not to mention the make-up of the team was far better. Sweden just capitalized on their chances.

Love following the Jr championships, Ncaa hockey, Olympic hockey and all that as well. Probably watched more peewee hockey than you have watched professional...so stfu!

I arose this morning to watch the US beat down Russia 8-3 which was great, and caught the end of the 3rd for the Slovak game..Sweden v Canada was good as well but I just have a soft spot for my over achieving under talented Americans. I actually went to the IIHF a few years ago in Slovakia, was a great time and I really want to do it again, as well as the World Juniors when it came to Buffalo a few years back, and supposedly 2014 is hitting Canada and I would love it to be Winnipeg since that'd be closer to where i'll be staying, but I doubt i'll get that lucky.

Lindy Ruff was an assistant during the last Olympics and probably the best option Canada has that isn't coaching a team anymore, so why not?

Oh and this Boston v NYR is an incredibly boring game, or am I just hockey'd out for the day?

Seriously... "us real hockey fans" give me a break, I worked 10 hours (7-5) from monday to friday and still had time to watch what was left of the world championship games and playoffs. Yes, RMS very boring game until the 3rd when things got going. Lundqvist doesn't look sharp at all...just wish the Bruins could take more advantage of this. These two teams really don't fully utilize their own offensive talents, especially the Rangers who are loaded with talent. Its amazing how inept both power plays can be. The Bruins usually have better scoring chances shorthanded than when on pp lol.

Yeah Switzerland has been a bulldozer the entire time. I wouldn't actually mind losing to them as it would be good for the sport as a whole if hockey got more attention in other countries.
