NILE: Karl Sanders talks about the new Nile fullength : The Return of the Mummy - Kingdom of Cruelty
Oct. 20, 2005 read

Karl Sanders " With this album I wanted to make the music more brutal than before. We have a few long songs to break up the music. You know we just love mummy's as a band. We have the blood of ancient pharoahs( Curse you all). Any people that pre-order the new album will have a mummy in a tomb shipped to their house by UPS. Note+ do not take rings off the mummy's finger or you will be stricken into a coma. Karl states this is the last Nile record. Karl: 'We want to try something else. As a band decided it's time to build a pyramind so we can touch the sun.' We will be hiring die-hard fans as our slaves on this next project. Thanks

At least half the people on this board will qualify as slaves.

That was a pretty inventive Blabbermouth spoof, well done.

They are pretty boring to me, and they are overrated.

cmon man how can you not like nile. They have some pretty badass guitar riffs. They play some fucked up sweeps that sound insane in a couple of songs. I need to learn those...

I like Nile. Karl Sanders Suarian Meditation is cool too
They play alot of riffs in eastern scales too and not just solos. They have some awesome Monk chanting on Black Seeds I like the sitar and other acoust instuments used in the music too.

I have seen them live too it was ok but not the greatest.

I like Nile alot. Their sound is unlike that of any other death metal band I have heard. However, they never really tend to stray from this sound. So, their stuff can be a little monotonous if you listen to it to long. I just like to listen to them every once in a while when I'm in the mood for something different.

They are very ... boring after a while, but they were the first band that made me like the typical style deep guttural vocals, as opposed to the growl-yell that bands like Possessed and Death used.

What do you metalheads think about nile?

I love them.....because they actually studied Egyptian culture of the ancient times...ive studied Egypt as well and am floored by their knowledge.....sure some like the metal that sounds like a smoker is choking while holding a roll of wrapping paper and the band jams on......but that's just weird..... But that's me.....I hate that "O E Ew Ah O E Rahhh" screaming and the music is either bad ass or SHIT with either too much treble or bass!

Barnes was bad ass in Cannibal Corpse....

I like alot od death metal....but these days...these younger generationals think wearing Rock Band (XBox) make up like the dude in the black in white face and screaming like the dude in Niles Dream Of Ur song is death metal....and to me...that's not death metal...that's Broadway Goth! Lmao....and the Tony award goes to? Lol....

I was around when it all started with bands like Possessed and Venom and Death and Celtic Frost!
