What type of music is NILE? From what I can gather they're death metal of some kind, but I'm not sure. Is that accurate?

Also, what other bands would you compare them to?

I personally think Nile are in a league of their own.

You can't compare them to Six Feet Under or any other other band really.

Brutal Technical Death Metal, if you delve a bit deeper they are all clever guys, the lyrics to Unas Slayer Of The Gods are probably the oldest lyrics ever, they are a translation of "The Pyramid Texts" being about 5000 years old at least.

Got all their albums and one of my favourite bands.

You're correct!! They did translate a lot from the Pyramid Text....also the book of the dead and the papyrus in several museums !! I study Egyptology! These guys are bad ass!!

You're spot on....Even the song Hittite Dung Incantation is a real thing!! They actually did what Dallas and Karl growl in that song!!! The ending if the 4th Arra of Dagon is bad ass....which it's also funny because how the song got its name....it was how they arranged how it would end...the demo tape had the abbreviation for arrangement as "Arra" and it was the 4th one they recorded.....and since they liked it the best.... The name of the song became the 4th Arra of Dagon! ......

I'm just digging for more music to buy later on...just that im picky....I like some of the modern bands...and still jam to older SHIT as well.....sucks gettin old..lol....some of this new stuff is either going to dreamtheater styled drangoforce (alleged death metal) or its going the other direction with Drama for front stage ......not that I care....but its not me...just doesn't resonate with my liking.....but there has been some bands that did a sort of in between that weren't totally bad! I mean hell.....Some of these bands that make me walk away do a song every so often that makes me go "Hmmmm!" So ....I dont know.....so I ask around to delve into suggestions and with today's capability and tech....I can sample before I buy!!! That's a plus side! And thanks !!!
