The shooter went my high school...
Fuck, this is a strange thing for me.
OK, say some nutjob does decide to go on a rampage? What happens then? He gets fucking shot. Two people die at most. And rampages like this, while they do happen, don't happen three or four times a fucking year. So that's 2 or 4 deaths a year compared to this happening three or four times a year with 6 to ten deaths each time. 18-40 deaths.
I'm just talking about things like school shootings.
Another idea is to just install metal detectors at every large public place, from schools to malls. Honestly I think this would be more effective.
However, I still stick by my argument.
That would just make the problem worse. Adding to people's sense of alienation makes them more likely to go on a rampage...My first idea will never happen, and maybe that's for the best, but the metal detectors idea can and should happen.
75 miles for meMathiäs;6970220 said:That's two mass killings in 2 weeks within 300 miles of where I live.
Also, think of the legendary cluster fuck that the world would be if there were metal detectors in every major public area.
Totally. Nothing makes gun deaths more unlikely than everyone having guns
My dads band KMFDM were in some stupid way connected to the shootings. Colombine idiots posted the lyrics on there website before the shooting, and finland guys main "influence" for the shooting was the song Stray Bullet, which he mis-interpreted for what ever he did.
On top of it, those were both my dads songs
Yes, his dad is a former member of KMFDM.
Wow..

Dear Students and Colleagues,
I'm certain that you share my feelings of sadness and concern in the wake of another episode of unspeakable violence on a college campus. *The Thursday incident and Northern Illinois University brings into sharp focus the need for all of us to support each other and to be alert to signs of distress among those in our community. *We are fortunate at UMaine to be part of a warm, welcoming community where people care about each other.
