Lots of trad (ok, call it folk, world or whatever you wish) bands whose names are probably unknown to most people.

Some of the more famous ones: Capercaillie, Runrig, Rodrigo y Gabriela (they do an excellent acoustic guitar cover of Orion and Stairway to Heaven), Hayseed Dixie, the Dubliners, The Pogues, Kate Rusby...

Ummm, about the only band I really love that is non-metal is ZZ Top. If I remember anyone else I'll post again.

oh yeah and xurek i got plenty of the lotr soundtrack etc.
listen to equilibrium - mana
16 min instrumental very lotr-ish

ZZ Top, lots of Classic Rock, some progrock stuff, Red Hot Chili Peppers..

and if we're abandoning anything involving guitars, there's E.S. Posthumus and a buttload of game soundtracks.

Johnny Cash, The Cult, The Misfits, The Ramones, The Slant (my brothers old band), NWA, Beethoven, Mozart, and The Doors.

i will listen and put anything on my iPod that i will listen too more than once. for some reason NWA reminds me of my youth, even though i am not black nor did i have any compton struggle.

- Queen

- Deep Purple

Lots of you seem like you could really do with exploring non metal (and metal tbh) music a bit more. Not trying to be an 'elitist' or whatever, I like Nirvana; Nevermind especially, but there is so much music out there that most people miss out on.
