Favorite non-metal band?

Besides the obvious like Floyd and seventies hard rock bands I also like some folky stuff like Neil Young and Tom Petty. I also sometimes listen to 80's pop like Alphaville, Depeche Mode and The Cure.

To me The Cure rocks in a strange mysterious way. I loved them and Southren Death
Cult and the first 3 The Cult cds.

I took a quick look at my record collection, and I found out that I have old David Bowie, The Beatles, Rush, Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana and ZZ Top records. And I love 80s pop!

Non-metal? Hmm I guess there always will be a blur line when it comes to certain bands appreciation.

As you say, I would put them into "metal" just as Van Halen, Kiss, ZZ Top, Magnum, etc .... but as I mentioned these bands in an other thread as my favorite metal bands, people complained. Now I mention them in "non-metal" and it is also not right. Well, I don´t care. Good music stays good music. I am not into this whole genre thing anyway.
