Nostradamus finally leaked.

'New Beginnings' is awful 'Close To Home', 'Out In The Cold', 'Desert Plains' or even 'Angel' beat this one as a bad ballad

Holy smoke Wyvern! Of all the things you said about the album that was the harshest! A ballad worse than Angel????
As a whole I liked Angel of Retribution and after reading that review of Nostradamus I wish they had continued along that path.

Yo también mano.

To my ears 'New Beginnings' is and undignifying ballad. And I like 'Angel' the two songs I didn't like from AOR are 'Revolution' and 'Eulogy', I even dig the silliness of 'Loch Ness', most probably if JP will have put those three aside AOR would had been a much stronger comeback.

I'm still undecided after listening to most of the album. To me it seems to plod along at almost a snails pace, with the majority of the effort going into the orchestral parts. It feels like a looooong opener for the next album.

I really do want to sit down and digest this more. I hope it grows on me more.

I just got done listening to most of it and all I have to say is... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Seems to be the consensus. What was the producer thinking when he decided to make half a CD of fucking organ noises and Rob Halford wailing?

That and, where was he when they mixed this? There are so many producers vying to produce/mix/record Priest and he let an album of such substandard sound slip through?

So I see not a lot of people here dig this album. I'll still give it a chance though. I mean, how bad could it possibly be, it's Judas fuckin' Priest!

Indeed, I have been a *fanatical* priest adept since 1978! The only album I don't play a lot is 'Point Of Entry' and even there I like most of the songs.

This one however is NOT priest. Orfanos is right.

This will be the first time that I will not buy the new priest album. And I am not happy with that. It not like I enjoy bashing them. I don't.

Thank god I had the opportunity to hear the album before I spent some money on it!

This time Hawk and I were tune up on the same wavelenght. I have all JP releases up to this day, yes I have "Point Of Entry" which I consider weak and play only some worthy tunes, I have the extreme "Jugulator" and the bad "Demolition" (although some tunes are well crafted). So I was torn by the fact I want to be a completist but I won't gonna spend my money on this album. I feel I have to be consitent with myself, if I have bashed so much Iron Maiden albums after BNW, well I should be as objective as well with JP or any other band (for example if I should had Internet downloading access back in the day I would have never bought Black Sabbath "Forbidden", and some other albums too.)

In a sense I think that I'm sending a message to the band, I don't like your product so improve it!

It is good to live in an era when we can listen to an album before purchase in an easy way, blind purchases even from bands we admire and love are risky businesss on this day and age.

To me it's a sad time

I agree. And it is sad.

Man it's killing me reading this thread! The CD goes on sale today, $11.99 at Best Buy. I don't recall EVER hesitating to get a Priest album :(

Deron, you can hear it here:

I actually think this album would have been great if it didn't have that sloshy sound going on..

It's not quick catchy numbers but tbh if they did that it might end up sounding a bit repetitive and middle of the road.

I got another copy FedEx'd to me last night!! They are trying to push the album hard... It's an okay album by other band's standards but as a Priest album? It just doesn't cut it...If this were their last album it would break my heart to know this is how they went out....

You know what puzzles me the most? Most people here already have listened to the album and make a judgement. Now go to the Prog Power USA forum and read the thread about the album. Make your own judgement, but i don't understand those guys there it seems we have listened (IF they had) to different albums.

Mind sending one my way?

Or mine, I don't mind have it as a freebie

I was about to buy it on e-Bay the price was $0.01 plus S&H it'll end at $7 for me (then I got a change of heart for the reasons I said in a previous post), but believe it or not it went at $11.75 + S&H, I wonder who pushed so hard when it cost $13.99 at Amazon
