not to sound emo, but do you.....

When I'm down I like to listen to:
Killswitch Engage - Just Barely Breathing
Sikth - Peep Show
Pan Thy Monium - Behrial
Mactatus - I Trollriket
Dimmu Borgir - Det Nye Riket
Marduk - Deathmarch

The first two are typical emo songs.

I'm an emotionless drone, but regardless of that, I do love myself a helping of depressing Doom of nearly any variety, from Traditional to Funeral.

i listen to smog or pavement or weakling

i listen to smog and pavement all the time though, not so much weakling (it is]/i] the best black metal album pretty much ever though except maybe pure holocaust or trannslvanian hunger)

When i'm emo I listen too.....

Evoken 'embrace the emptiness' laying in my bed in the dark praying to nothing for my eyes to close. This is when i've had just about enough of doing the same shit in the same order for the last 5 years. Getting smoothered by a pillow would only be able to top this ultimate bliss.

My two self-help songs are:

"Victory" by Nomeansno

and a little black metal: "This Is The Life" by Living Colour

amnesiac - radiohead
lateralus - Tool
Starless and Bible Black, discipline, construction of light, thrak - King Crimson
Naked City - John Zorn
Agharta - Miles Davis
Change - Dismemberment Plan
Too Dark Park - Skinny Puppy
Phaedra - Tangerine Dream
Any beatles
Seems random, but this is what does it for me

Big slabs of riffage give me an instant lift, and for that, the "Sunlight sound" bands of the early 90's do it best - want to see an instant smile on my face? Put on "Left Hand Path"

I've always thought there was something oddly uplifting about Dismember in particular. Hooray for feel-good death metal.

I'm with the people here who throw on depressing music when they're sad. No matter how sad I am, I can count on Katatonia and Shape of Despair to make things worse.

No matter what mood I'm in, playing any latter Katatonia will inevitably make things worse. :Smug:
